The Chauvet Professional Net-X II is a versatile Ethernet-to-DMX node with merging capabilities, well suited for the novice or experts working in professional lighting for concerts, event halls, clubs, or tours. The unit provides a reliable platform for beginners with its preset configuration library, while advanced users will appreciate the highly customizable network infrastructure for complex control systems.

The Net-X II functions as a merger for two controllers on either Ethernet or DMX, while offering the ability to record up to 10 DMX presets, which can be triggered remotely (via Phoenix connector). There are two 5-pin DMX inputs and eight 5-pin DMX outputs, which are all optically isolated, and can output up to eight universes simultaneously. LTP and HTP merging fully supports network protocols sACN, Art-Net, or DMX to merge two incoming controllers to any DMX output. Additionally, the Net-X II has RDM over network functionality. The Chauvet Professional Net-X II ships with a five-foot powerCON to Edison power cord.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with quasar cross fade tubes? And also could you control the lights through an extension cord?

A: This should be a suitable option for dimming the lights.

Q: 2. Will this product work with any lighting console or does it require the ONYX software?

A: All NETRON nodes work for any console, they are not specific to ONYX. NETRON nodes use sACN and Art-Net, which is supported by almost every lighting control system.

Q: 3. Can a 3-pin connector be converted to 5-pin to control the Nova 600 and Nanlite 500/720?

A: Yes, you can step down from 5-pin DMX to 3-pin DMX with the following adapter cable: the Kopul DMX35PA-S 3-Pin Male to 5-Pin Female DMX Adapter Cable (6"). Some functionality may be lost, but it would be minimal.

Q: 4. Does this dimmer pack generate any appreciable power draw by itself, apart from the fixtures that are plugged into it? I’m interested in powering this with an inverter, and I want to make sure I don’t overload it. I’m particularly interested if the “ghost load” it generates internally will have any affect on the power draw.

A: The unit technically does not by itself draw power. There is some electronics but the draw is minimal. Just make sure whatever inverter battery you are using can handle a bit over the maximum power of all the lights you are attaching to it. Note that the dimmer pack is not designed to work off of a battery. And dimmer packs like in general are not. You might want to talk to the manufacture direct on this, CHAUVET DJ, https://bit.ly/3k4ondH

Q: 5. Can this dimmer pack dim those dimmable led filament bulb?

A: I agree with the previous response, this dimmer pack will allow you to adjust the output voltage to any one or combination of channels between 0 and 120 volts. The relay pack is made for LED fixtures and states that it has circuitry to eliminate LED flicker which google shows to be the problem with some LED dimmable bulbs, however I have never tried to dim any LED fixture or lamp.

Q: 6. Will this control the mini kinta?

A: Yes this controller is compatible with LED effects lights such as the Chauvet DJ Mini Kinta.

Q: 7. Can this handle a 1000w light?

A: Unfortunately, this Chauvet DMX-4 4 Channel Dimmer/Relay Pack Kit for LED Lighting cannot handle a 1000 watt lamphead.

Q: 8. Is there the choice to operate this device either over ethernet, or USB?

A: The Obsidian Netron EP4 Ethernet to DMX 4-Port Gateway is controlled via either net. The usb is for power only.

Q: 9. I will connect led lights.decrease dimmer value,light filankaring.any changes

A: We have not had any flickering. The unit provided very smooth light fades. We used the unit on strings of Christmas lights on a stage.

Q: 10. can i use this product to dimmer 8 Strand Lighting Leko Lite 50 Fixed Beam Ellipsoidal (120-230VAC)?a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/875710-REG/Strand_Lighting_11550c_50_deg_Leko_Lite_Ellipsoidal.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/875710-REG/Strand_Lighting_11550c_50_deg_Leko_Lite_Ellipsoidal.html/a

A: The answer is no. The fixture minimum bulb wattage is 575 watt. Times that X 8 and you have total load of 4200 watts. The total amp draw on each channel of the dimmer is 5. Also code only allows the load to not exceed 80% of the 5 amps

[14 W] Used for an extension for an existing DMX run. Works great.

[14 W] I got this to use at our church because I work with volunteers and it's difficult for them to see the difference between a XLR cable and a three pin DMX. The five pins makes it more obvious :o)

[Steel] Running our church house lights off these as a replacement to Leviton wall switch dimmers that were causing flickering.

We installed two of these dimmer packs and connected approximately 95 LED ceiling fixtures spread out over six of the available eight channels we have with the two packs. Each fixture is a 10w LED bulb from a big orange box store. Our electrician said we are pulling approximately 1 amp on each string of lights.

Integrated into the rest of our DMX stage lighting system piece of cake. Planning to purchase a spare to have on the shelf just in case.

[ArtNet, sACN] I love that there is an LED read out instead of dip switches. I also love that there are individual fuses for each channel that are easy to access.

[Steel] Our theater group owns one, but needed another and we just purchased a new one so now have 2, thus can double the number of separately-cued instruments/groups of lighting instruments on our small community theater stage. Works well; you haver to spend a bit of learning how to program it, but once you figure out your set-up its ready to go, trouble-free compact.
