The 4 x 5.65" Cokin Z-Pro Graduated ND Filter 4x5.65" 2-Stopis designed for use with a Cokin Z-Pro Series Filter Holder. This filter provides up to a 2-stop reduction in light from entering the lens. It helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a soft-edged line of transition is able to filter the sky while minimizing its effect on the land. It is particularly useful where the transition between sky and foreground is indeterminate, such as images featuring mist, fog, or the tops of trees. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image.

Cokin NUANCES Extreme filters are constructed from tempered, shock-resistant glass and feature nano-metallic alloy film coatings on both sides of the filter surface to attenuate infrared light while maintaining true color fidelity, even when stacked with other Cokin NUANCES or NUANCES Extreme filters. Anti-glare coatings further help to reduce surface reflections for increased contrast and clarity, while additional hydrophobic coatings result in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency. Additionally, Cokin NUANCES Extreme filters feature C-shaped edges. This rounded edge shape resists chipping to further enhance durability.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I plan on using this filter with my canon 70-200mm L series lens. Will I still be able to use the lens hood with this filter?

A: K&F Concept 77mm Nano X-Pro Magnetic ND2-32 (1-5 Stop) Variable Neutral Density Filter is very wide in the front and the lens hood in the Canon 70-200 is very narrow so the lens hood will probably not work with the filter unfortunately.

Q: 2. Work for Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 Lens?

A: Yes, the K&F Concept Nano-X Pro Variable ND2-ND400 Filter (49mm, 1-9 Stop) will work on the Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 Lens.

Q: 3. Can they be stacked together to increase the final f-stop. i.e. 1 f-stop filter + 3 f-stop = 4 f-stop?

A: Yes they can!

Q: 4. Works for sony 24-70 mm?

A: Depends which 24-70 you are referring to. Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II Lens accepts 82mm filters so this 67mm filter won't work.

Q: 5. Do the filters come in their own hard plastic protective box?

A: Yes, they are individual.

Q: 6. Will this filter work on a wide angle lens such that there is no vignetting or blocked portions on the image?

A: We use the 52mm as a drop-in for a 200-400 f4 Nikon lens. No problem there.

Q: 7. Does this filter fit the Sony 24-70mm G-Master lens?

A: No, this is too small. You would need the Hoya 82mm ND (NDX8) 0.9 Filter (3-Stop) (http://bhpho.to/2aYyUXX) for the Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM.

Q: 8. will it work with the nisi v6 holder?

A: The K&F Concept X-Pro Square ND64 Filter with Frame (100x100) is not compatible with the NiSi V6 Filter Holder. This item is designed for use with the X-Pro Square Filter Holder System.

Q: 9. HelloWould this Filter and the Hoya 52mm Alpha Circular Polarizer Filter work (Compatible) with Panasonic Lumix FZ200?Thank you.Shaun

A: The sizes of both filters are the proper size for the FZ200 and will properly fit it, however Panasonic's instruction for the manual discourages use of two filters on the camera, likely as it will become too darkened for the camera to autofocus with.

Q: 10. Want to use on a canon ef 100-400 mm to photograph an eclipse. Will it fit/work?

A: Yes,your ND filter will work with solar eclipse. But, that is the least of your problems. If will give the impression that it reduces the light from the sun. It does for visible light, but does NOT reduce the permanent eye damage from UV, which will past through your ND filter as if you had no ND filter. If you do use it for solar eclipse, you MUST, to keep your vision, add add a CERTIFIED solar eclipse filter to stop the very damaging UV light. Without the solar filter, you'll most likely burn out your camera's sensor, along with your vision. Permanently. Wishing you great luck with your solar photos. Respectfully submitted, Bill Edmundson

[0.495 lb] It darkened the sky nicely in my test shots. I could not detect any loss of image quality or sharpness caused by shooting through the filter. It made the sky appear to be a deeper blue and gave more contrast to the clouds. Cokin filters worked for me back in the Kodachrome era, and are still a viable choice in the digital age.
