This 100 x 150mm Benro Soft-Edge Graduated ND Filter 100x150mm 2-Stophelps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle with a soft-edge line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a soft-edged line of transition is particularly useful for images that do not have a strongly defined transition between the sky and the foreground. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and this filter provides up to a 2-stop reduction in light from entering a lens.

Each surface of this filter is coated to offer greater protection to the filter substrate and helps it stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. The coatings associated with Benro Universal Series graduated neutral density filters also result in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.

This filter is constructed from durable, optical resin and measures 2mm thick.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How significant is the benefit of the extra cost multicoating on the BW neutral density filter (3 stop version, 58mm) An extra expense I can avoid?

A: I think it is money well spent. As you know filters tend to get dirty fast so I'm cleaning them a lot. I've had the cheaper ones and I've noticed hair line scratches from wiping over an extended period of time.Good luck.Bart W

Q: 2. is this compatible with hasselblad hcd f4 28mm which does have a diameter of 95mm?

A: If the lens has threads on the front then it should fit.I use it on a Sigma 150-600

Q: 3. Hello. I am looking to reduce my f-stop during panning shots. I do Motorsport photography and typically pan anywhere from 1/30th to 1/320. In that range, I’ve been up to f-18. I use the 300 f2.8 with both TC’s with exceptional results. My concern/question is, will this negatively affect or impact the AF system? Even though I already get a nice motion blur with panning techniques, I’d like to reduce the f-stop further to add some additional blurring in the out of focus areas. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks.

A: This should not effect the focusing system much. If you were using anything 6-stop or more, the you may see varying results, but because it is only a 3-stop, you would be more than fine.

Q: 4. Where is this made?

A: According to the information we have, our current inventory's Country of Origin is Germany. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice.

Q: 5. will this fit the DZOFilm Pictor 20 to 55mm T2.8 Super35 Parfocal Zoom Lens?

A: Yes Bower 86mm Variable Neutral Density Filter is compatible with that lens.

Q: 6. I do not have a lot of experience with Neutral Density filters. I bought one that is a 10 stop, and I did not realize that I would not be able to see through it. So it is much more work setting up my shot. Will I be able to see through a 3 stop filter?

A: Put the camera on a tripod, manual focus then screw the the filter on carefully. Cover the viewfinder as light leaks on long exposure. Take the photo with a cable release or 2 second timerIt is for very long exposures for minute. Cool cloud effects. i doubt if you could see throu the 3 stop either. They all are for tripod use

Q: 7. Does it come with a case? Thanks!

A: it comes in a hard plastic case with some padding.

Q: 8. Do the stop markings on the filter equal to 1/3 stop?

A: Yes

Q: 9. Will this filter fit the drop in Ai-s 39mm holder for Nikon?

A: This would fit in the Drop-in AIS holder for Nikon.

Q: 10. What is outside diameter? I want to attach a screw in hood.

A: The outside diameter is 62mm.

[0.17 lb] I take a lot of landscape pictures. Lately I have been taking ocean view pictures in the evening and had big contrast issues - bright sky and dark foreground. I had the camera checked out and everything was to spec. HDR mode and Software couldn't correct the problem so I tried the Tiffen Graduated ND filter which solved the problem perfectly. Pictures are much better balanced.

[0.17 lb] I bought this product for taking pictures of the Grand Canyon. There is marked difference between the canyon exposure and the sky. The sky is much brighter than the canyon landscape. Also there is very define edge between the top of the canyon and the sky. This will prevent over-exposing the sky and keeping a very good balance between the two, the top 1/3 of the image and the bottom 2/3rds. This does it job and saves post editing work

[0.17 lb] Thank You for your excellent service. The ND filter arrived and was to be a gift, so use hasn't occurred yet. I just like B&H- rather than some of the other vendors. Sincerely, C.
