Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is this a cordless microphone?

A: The Telefunken M80 is not a wireless mic. This is a dynamic handheld that needs to be connected via cable.

Q: 2. Is this cable balanced?

A: The Hosa Technology MXM-015 Camcorder Microphone Cable (XLR Female) is an unbalanced cable.

Q: 3. I am looking at a Rode NTG-2 microphone to use on a boom pole. Would this be the correct cable to use for extending the distance? The NTG-2 comes with a Kopul LMT100. Would it be better to purchase a cable that has a male and female mini and use it in conjunction with the Kopul cable.

A: I dad to return this particular one because of a defect. But this is the correct cable for you.

Q: 4. The specs say it has a 14.75" cable -- surely that can't be correct, or is it?

A: Yes, the Saramonic SR-NV5X Short Shotgun Microphone with Hardwired XLR Cable does have a 14.75" attached cable. This length is suitable for an on-camera microphone. If you need a longer length, you can simply attach a standard XLR mic cable in the length that you need to the XLR connector for the mic and it will work as needed when connected to phantom power.

Q: 5. Does it also supply power to the mic?

A: The On-Stage MC12-10U' Microphone to USB Cable does not specify the ability to supply power such as 48V phantom for microphones that may require it. This cable is suited for use with dynamic microphones that do not require power from the cable source.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with the Shure GLXD-D wireless microphones?

A: Yes - it will screw right onto the handle.

Q: 7. does this mic require 48v phantom power?

A: Yes, the Saramonic SR-NV5X Short Shotgun Microphone does require 48V phantom power.

Q: 8. What is maximum extension length or length of each arm segment?

A: This arm is not adjustable, both segments are about 19.5" giving you a total of 39" of full length.

Q: 9. it is suitable for Blue Yeti?

A: The Yeti is mountable on this arm or a standard mic stand, however would require the optional Radius II mount.

Q: 10. Would this handle the blue Bluebird SL without being shaky or unstable?

A: You will be most pleased with this apparatus. Simple set up, appealing to the eyes and it will hold your mic securely without worry. I have used it with the audio Technica and a behringer which has slightly more weight than the mic you have selected.

[Silver] This mic is literally the best mic I have EVER used on stage. It has the ability to make bad PA systems and bad speakers sound amazing. This mic is a MUST have if you sing live. This mix has also been amazing in the studio when I mic snare drums. The frequency response is superior to any other mic I've used.

[Black] Very clear sounding Mic! It was so clear that we were able to fine tune the live vocal reverb at band practice. It also has a nice design and a good weight to it. It feels great in the hand. It has a wide spectrum so you do not necessarily have to position it right in front of your mouth for good results. Overall I am very impressed. If you are looking for a live vocal mic upgrade look no further.

[Silver] If I had my choice, I would use all DPA vocal mics, but using $1000 vocal mics on eveeryday shows is impractical. I bought one M80 a couple years back to play with , and it is far superior to an SM or B58 in the monitors and at FOH. I am all d&b so I'm working with top shelf products and I notice a big difference in this mic. It's built like a tank. After 35 years, almost every national still requests SM58 , but I have made the M80 my personal use mics, and anyone I put it in front of loves it. The SM58 is so engrained into peoples minds that many hesitate to try something new, but they are always thrilled with the quality after giving in.

[Silver] I love that it comes straight out the box assembled and with the two options to either clamp it down or screw it into the wall. I never recommend using OEM screws though as I always prefer toggle bolts when I can. This definitely beats all those pricey boom arms, and I would highly recommend this to everyone!

[Black] I am a Baritone/Tenor hybrid, and this mic is the best I have used for live performance. I use flat EQ on the board and rely on the response curve of the mic, as well as the shape control on a TC Helicon T1 To EQ my voice. I am absolutely thrilled with the noticeable improvement in clarity and definition over the EV N/DYM 767 or the Shure SM57/58. Of course, it costs over twice as much as these mics, but my voice is my meal ticket and this is worth every penny. Plus, the Telefunken M80 is superior to any other dynamic mic I have used at ANY price. It gives me the Hi-Fi qualities of a condenser mic with the Great durability and feedback rejection of a dynamic mic. Buying the gold-plated version was a bit of an indulgence on my part, but it looks gorgeous!
