Surrounding the enclosure is a rubber bumper, which helps to provide protection against shock. Thanks to its USB 2.0 Type-A interface, it can achieve read and write speeds of up to 480 Mb/s. Backward compatible with 12 Mb/s USB 1.1, this enclosure allows drives to be hot swapped, and plug-and-play functionality means that no additional drivers are required for use. Additionally, it is powered using the USB bus, meaning that no additional power cables are required for use. Protection is provided by a limited 1-year warranty.

A: Be sure the SSD is properly attached, open disk utility to view all connected devices check if formatting is an issue. Also check the drive on other units to see if it's a issue only on one machine, or if it could be the drive itself.

A: I got mine about two weeks ago and it has USB 3.1 printed on it. The pic must be old.

A: This one has an external power adapter supplied with the casing as well as a special USB3 cable (which is USB 2 compatible).

Q: 10. Is this enclosure compatible with Samsung model MZ-JPU512T/046 SATA from 2013 MacBookPro?

[1x 2.5"] I had an old laptop that no longer functioned/started up, but a hard drive that had various personal files I needed to recover. [1x USB-A 2.0] Truly a well designed & priced item. Precision screw-less fit, great I/O light (unlike the new computers that are black boxes), and a SWITCH! What a novel idea. Allows you to avoid power arcing at the USB, and lets you keep the drive plugged in when not using. However, not heat sinked. Not an issue for my application. Great for SSD from upgraded systems. Can use Bestcrypt for security. 5

[1x USB-A 2.0] Better than expected. USB 3 connection. GREAT. AND it has a light to monitor I/O's, so YOU know when transfers are finished. Better than Lenovo laptops that have no HD light. On the road, when uploading to your server from the external HD enclosure, you will know when the transfer is finished or if there are issues during the u/l from the HD light. 5
