[0.5 lb] I purchased this shock mount because my sound recordist broke my previous shock mount. The solid aluminum construction of this mount makes it very durable and very ergonomic. The ability to unscrew the bottom piece and add a myriad of different adapters is absolutely invaluable, as I am not always using boom poles and will occasionally require a cold shoe mount for my ENG rig. I cannot stress enough how durable this piece is; it is a bit more on the pricy side, but you get what you pay for!

[Aluminum, Nylon] I use this AT shock mount with my Sennheiser shotgun microphone. It's been dependable for 13 years. I have taken in all over the world in some very rough conditions. I finally broke the bracket where it screws into my boom pole after all the abuse I've put it through. So I purchased the exact same one as a replacement. It's light weight, easy to use, and quick to put the microphone in or take it out. It's probably the best shock mount for the money in my opinion.

[0.5 lb] The Audio Technica AT8415 Universal Shock Mount fits the smaller shanked mics very well as there are not too many shock mounts available at a reasonable price for these types of mounts. I needed to isolate a Boom Mounted EV vintage PL9 and have found the 8415 to work perfectly! The shank is 19mm on the PL9, fit is good, holds solidly and isolates well from the boom and the sounds a boom can make when moving into another position. The instructions state the mount will handle down to a 12mm shank.... might be a little loose with this small of a diameter but you can cross the bands for a tighter fit. Overall, very pleased with the product and as usual, B&H Photo provided excellent service with fast shipping.

[0.5 lb] The idea behind the swift is pretty awesome: make it just as easy to swap mics as it is to swap headphones, chairs, or music; just grab the two little tabs on the side and pop the mic in.

I got a pair of these to replace the absolutely horrendous shock mounts that came with a pair of WA-47jrs, and they fit perfectly. They fit most other similarly-sized LDCs, like Astons own Spirit and Origin, as well as a few less-predictable ones like WA-14s and other 414-like mics. They grab onto mics well and hold them even when shaken or bumped into, and the shock dissipation seems really effective so far- they even shipped extra pieces for when the shock band wears out (not to mention Aston support has been outstanding every time I need to talk to them, which is thankfully very seldom).

The only issue Ive had so far is that some particularly heavy, smooth mics will tend to slide down in the grip slowly. I think maybe if you put a rubber band around the mic right above the grip arms it should stay put, so long as you dont mind the look of that.

I also wish they made an XL size for tube mics, but it would definitely need to have a bit stronger springs/retention mechanism in it since those are considerably heavier. A smaller version for SDCs and shotgun mics would also be nice.

[0.5 lb] I bought this to use with a Sennheiser MKE600 on a boom and occasionally attached to a super clamp on a shelf over my desk. It feels solid, but is still light enough to toss in my carry-on for trips. Very easy to adjust, holds just tight enough without transmitting vibration. This will get a lot of use.
