Presented in a green body with a black grille, the Telefunken M80 Custom Handheld Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone delivers the sonic essence of a condenser in a rugged dynamic design. It features a wide 50 Hz to 18 kHz frequency response and high maximum SPL of 135 dB, making it equally suitable for voice, instruments, or drums onstage and in the studio. The M80 is designed to be an alternative to the midrange-laden character of most dynamic vocal microphones.

The M80's low-mass capsule and super-thin capsule membrane allow a wider dynamic range from a live vocal, providing an intimate feel that's typically reserved for studio condenser microphones. The head and capsule assembly is designed to reduce proximity effect and add low-end clarity while still providing present bass. The M80 also features an American-made, custom-wound, impedance-matching transformer. It ships with a mic clip and leather storage bag.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is this a cordless microphone?

A: The Telefunken M80 is not a wireless mic. This is a dynamic handheld that needs to be connected via cable.

Q: 2. is there a way to connect this for use directly on computer?

A: This microphone will need an inerface that can provide both phantom power and XLR to USB conversion to work with a computer.

Q: 3. can I use the MKH 50 outdoor to record sound? Is it so bad?

A: If you plan to use the Sennheiser MKH 50 outdoors, which is entirely feasible, it would be highly recommended to combine it with a sturdy windshield such as BH #RYSSKS or BH #RYWSQAT.

Q: 4. Is it possible to connect this via XLR? My interface uses the one C-port I have for outgoing sound + other inputs.

A: The Deity Microphones VO-7U Dynamic Supercardioid USB Streamer Microphone Kit with Desktop Tripod (Black) does not have an XLR connector.

Q: 5. Does this use a regular 3 pin XLR connector? (understand that it needs phantom power)

A: Yes, this Shure MX184 Supercardioid Wired Lavalier Microphone does have a standard size 3-pin XLR connector and is intended for use with a mixer, recorder, camera, or amplifier with a standard XLR mic input that can supply phantom power.

Q: 6. So this capsule screws onto the Lectro HHa body and works with no issue?

A: Yes, the Telefunken M80-WH Wireless Dynamic Microphone Capsule is an interchangeable capsule that will work with the Lectrosonics HH and HHa wireless handheld transmitters, as well as with Sony UTX-M03 wireless handheld transmitters, and Shure Axient, UHF-R, QLXD, ULXD, ULX, PG, PGX, SLX, and UR2 wireless handheld transmitters.

Q: 7. Does this kit also include the sennheiser native shockmount, and foam windscreen that usually comes in the case with the mkh50?

A: Yes, it has the boxed Sennheiser kit with the screen and a mic clip. The latter is the close-fitting clip with the standard 5/8 thread.

Q: 8. Could this microphone work with a Behringer U-Phoria UM2 audio interface, and if so would it have issues with it being too quiet?

A: The V7 will work well with the UM2. There is gain control on the UM2, so no, it will not be too low.

Q: 9. Can I buy something to make this microphone wireless? Or does it need to be a cord..

A: Sennheiser does have a wireless version of the e945 mic. It is the Sennheiser EW 500-945 G3. Good luck!

Q: 10. Is this compatible with the Shure GLXD-D wireless microphones?

A: Yes - it will screw right onto the handle.

[End Address] Great sounding Mic

[Mono] I tour with a country band as their road manager and FOH engineer. At a show we were doing a fellow engineer told me about this mic. I purchased one to try out on our lead vocal then had each of the other singers try it out. After trying multiple mics over the last two years I have finally found what I was looking for. We just purchased three more for a total of four and I have all of my guys on them now. They are amazed with the improvement and a direct quote was I feel like my voice is alive now. The feedback rejection is killer and outside of one one of my vocalists I am only using a HPF on a well tuned system. I have one vocalist that I have to fight around 3.15k but I'm noticing that I am not fighting as hard as I was when we had him on a competitors mic. The only minor complaint I have is the proprietary clip that comes with the mic. I would purchase a couple of extras if you are using them frequently. This is very minor considering it is such a great sounding and tough as nails mic. Definitely worth the money!
