Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. how much weight can this support? thanks

A: This item does not have a specified limit.

Q: 2. Is the black tip/ball at the end, is it a female 3/8" 16? Or is it a male 3/8" 16?

A: The Ball has a Female 3/8”-16 receiver that threads onto the male 3/8”-16 end of the Mini Matthellini shaft.

Q: 3. Is this "Matthews Mini Matthellini" comes with a 1/4" 20 on the top? Or is it a 3/8" 16 on the top? (I mean without the Infinity tip on the top).

A: Matthews Mini Matthellini comes in different versions

Q: 4. What is the difference in functionality between the center jaw and the end jaw configuration of the Matthellini?

A: The end jaw model can be an easier fit in tight spaces since you don't need to have space for the fastening handle to stick out behind what you're mounting. The center jaw model is more stable under load since it keeps mounted weight closer to the jaws.

Q: 5. I have a Matthellini clamp that looks just like this and want to buy a second one. However, the jaw I have is 3 wide. Is this 3 wide or only 2 ? I can't find a 3 version at B&H. Thanks.

A: This clamp is 3 wide. The 2 , I believe, refers to the depth of the clamp - from front to back of the jaw.

Q: 6. Is this the same as the Matthews Mini Matthellini Clamp? BH #MAMM • MFR #420112-S15? With the female 1/4" 20? But just without the "Infinity tip" at the top?

A: According to the manufacturer this stand has a 1/4" 20 male post on the end of it under the ball.

Q: 7. What is the OVERALL length end-to-end?...and, what is the size of the OPEN jaw, i.e.., what size object can the open jaw accommodate?

A: The actual post is about 8 (inches) long. The bottom half of the clamp to the top of the post is 5 long. Within the clamp jaws you could fit a 3 1/4 item. I wouldn't go larger than 3 though. I use it to hold boom poles on C clamps. Works great!

Q: 8. Can you remove the ball on this and if so what size is the thread?

A: If you heat up the lock tight you can remove the ball currently 3/8-16

Q: 9. What is the max opening of the clamp?

A: When I open mine until it stops the outside edge gap is about 1-3/4 to 1-7/8. The inside measurement where the clamp is the widest is about 2-1/4. For example, if you were to clamp it on a book the thickest book you could clamp would be about 1-3/4 .

Q: 10. Oh for goodness sake, could you please list the maximum opening of this clamp?

A: The Mini Matthellini will open 2".

[Steel] As is typical for Matthews, this adapter is solid. I have paired it with a Manfrotto 492 Micro Ball Head as a smooth and solid mount for placing a small monitor onto a C-stand. I am very happy with the solution.

[Flat] I've been using the cardellini clamps for years, but these Mathellini clamps are of very good quality and were 20% less expensive than the name brand. Right now, they're holding up some little Arri Photolights in the university A/V Room and working like a champ.

[Chrome] Bought it for holding my ice light which I'm often rigging in high places and tight corners- I was worried that it would be too small, but it's the perfect size.

[0.475 lb] These clamps along with the other components of the MiniGrip system make positioning reflectors and small LED lights very easy. Found out I needed more than one complete set/
