Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I am doing a Facebook Live broadcast. I want to run a direct signal from my board, M32r Midas or mr18, into my iphone with a stereo signal. Can I directly from my board to this and thento my phone or is there a better way for pristene sound? Thanks

A: The iRig is going to be the simplest and cleanest method to get audio from your board into your iPhone.

Q: 2. Can I use this rig to connect an iPhone Xs to a mixing board to record a phone call?

A: SmartRig only has microphone inputs. To be able to use the line outs from a mixing board, you would need an interface with line inputs, like the Saramonic SmartMixer for iOS devices (B&H # SASRSMIX1). https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1198327-REG/indipro_tools_srsmix1_saramonic_audio_mixer.html

Q: 3. Is the 1/4" input TRS for long cable run from the mixer?

A: No, the 1/4" input is TS for instruments. You can go out from a mixer 1/4" into a direct box than XLR into the SmartRig+Di for best results, or even TRS to XLR cables and then mind the input gain if you do not have a direct box.

Q: 4. Would this device work to take a call on whatsapp? To make a live broadcast by reporters/journalists? Thanks!

A: That would depend on if WhatsApp allows real-time audio monitoring through Lightning. It should, but you might want to contact WhatsApp's support to verify.

Q: 5. Does this unit have any mounting holes on the back, to attach to a rig if using for microphone input to an iPhone?

A: The Saramonic SmartRig+ Di has a 1/4''-20 thread on the back of it.

Q: 6. Using the usb c or the lightning connection the signal that will receive the phone will stereo ?? I understand using the 3.5 trs conection the signal to the cellphone will mono.

A: Yes. It does provide stereo, or in reality a dual mono signal of Left and Right. Make sure to switch the SmartRig to stereo mode.

Q: 7. Could I use this to record phone calls from my iPhone?

A: The Saramonic SmartRig+UC Two-Channel Audio Interface for USB Type-C Devices cannot be used to record calls from a smartphone and neither can the Zoom H1n that was recommended. An additional device is needed as an interface to record on the H1n.

Q: 8. What audio recording software would you use on an iPhone?

A: You can use apps like Filmic Pro, GarageBand, or Saramonic's free SmartRecorder.app.

Q: 9. Does anyone know if it is possible to send a Line Level signal into this unit?

A: Absolutely YES. It has XLR & 1/4" combo and 3.5mm inputs, so for line-level choose the 1/4" or 3.5mm inputs and use the level controls to dial in the level you desire.

Q: 10. Will this device help to eliminate hiss if I connect it as a preamp between the shotgun microphone (600 Ohms) powered by the 1.5V battery and the Tascam DR-40 recorder?

A: Not necessarily. It would be helpful to know which shotgun microphone you will be using and how it is connecting to the recorder so we can do a bit of troubleshooting first to determine the source of the noise. Please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website and we can work with you directly to find the best solution.

[13 mA] Well-built, well-designed, solid mixer. The battery is long-lasting, and the headphone output & pan pots are excellent. ONE NOTE: I discovered that the supplied carrying case is a snug fit, and can change your switch settings. I lost audio for 1 take, and that was my fault for not double-checking. Two thumbs up.

[Up to +25 dBu ] After an extensive search for something to connect my apollo/laptop audio to my iPhone for livestreaming, this is the first product I found that wasn't backordered and works! Sounds really good, super simple.

It comes with an iRig to lightning cable and an iRig to USB cable. All I had to do was plug the lightning cable into my phone and an instrument cable running from the iRig to the headphone jack of the Apollo OR a stereo to mono cable from the monitor output on the back of the Apollo and bam! Audio to my videos!

[Battery] I’ve been using IK Multimedia audio software for years on a Windows PC platform. This was my first hardware purchase in order to use my iPad as a portable recording studio.

You can use the iRig HD 2 to get extremely low latency when using and recording with your iOS apps (and also Windows PC platform) but my primary reason for this purchase is to have a robust yet compact portable audio interface for recording my guitar.

IK Multimedia is well known for being makers of high quality audio software and hardware and this inexpensive interface is no different. It’s made of robust plastic and will allow you to connect to a several connecting ports like iOS lightning interface, USB, USB-C and also comes with the necessary cables for each!

I plug my guitar into the iRig and run a cable from the amp output direct to my amp. I then plug a lightning cable from the iRig to my iPad. I use an app from Jam Origin called MIDI Guitar 2 which allows me to use my guitar as a real-time MIDI controller to then play my virtual synths. I then run the headphone output of my iPad to the monitors for the accompanying sounds.

This is a great inexpensive interface that you will get a lot of mileage from.

[1x 9V] I am using this Saramonic to broadcast my church's Bible Study and Sunday Service on Facebook. I have used it a couple of times for family video on my Samsung Note 10, it is very easy to use. The sound quality is quite exceptional, I have not had the opportunity to use it with multiple microphones so I can't comment on that portion of it. to use it with my Samsung I also use the USB-C adapter.
Very Happy with my purchase
