A: The Leica Metal Lens Cap for 35mm & 50mm f/2.5 M Lens is only compatible with the 35mm and 50mm f/2.5 Summarit M lenses. We don't have a replacement metal lens cap for the Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH Lens.

A: Unfortunately not, this lens cap is not the correct size for that lens.

Q: 7. Can this magnetic cap be used with the Sigma 45 2.8 lens? I believe it would fit, but since it's magnetic, I'm wondering if it might damage the 45 somehow.

A: The Sigma LCF5501M Magnetic Metal Lens Cap is compatible with all Sigma I series lenses with 55mm cap diameter. But it is not compatible that one specific Sigma I series lens, the 45mm F2.8 DG DN | C lens.

Q: 8. Does the m39 thread fit a Leica enlarging lens?

A: Fit-wise: the e39 thread should be no problem for using Leica enlarging lens. If remember correctly, enlarging lenses are e39 thread & they should mate with the adapter. Question is how you plan use it on a Nikon body with or without bellow (& which bellow) is another matter.

A: The Ice Front and Rear Metal Stack Cap Set (86mm) would fit the front of the B+W 82mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter (BH #ICESK86 • MFR #ICE-SK86), as that filter has a 86mm front threading. It would not fit the rear of the lens, as that is 82mm threading.

[39 mm] The Thambar lens new from Leica has a beautiful brass rear lens cap with a plastic inner bayonet liner. The FotodioX Cap is an inexpensive alternative to that $150 cap. It is quite good for the price, my only reservation is that it could scratch the rear bayonet of the lens, however I am not seeing that with the limited use so far. The Leica caps will sit flush with the barrel of the lens, this one sticks out slightly, so while it offers better protection it is not as streamlined. I continue to prefer the plastic caps but this is a good one for lens changing time when spares are necessary. 5

[0.015 lb] This cap is well-machined and modest price. It fits thread-mount Leitz lenses with the 39mm × 26 tpi (threads per inch) mount and Soviet lenses with their 39 × 1 mm mount. I have not tried it on Japanese thread-mount lenses, but they are supposed to be identical to the Leitz lenses. 5
