$177.00 $274.35

Store your DSLR, mirrorless or compact camera in the ready position, at your side with the gray Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Side Holster for All Cameras (Gray)from Cotton Carrier. The holster has a rear belt-loop for easy attachment to a user-supplied belt or strap. Behind the belt is an interlocking, touch-fastening strap for attaching to larger items such as the waist belt on a backpack. Although capable of carrying longer and heavier lenses, the longest recommended lens is a 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom. This holster is suitable for most varieties of photographic endeavor, such as hiking, covering sporting events, and similar shooting scenarios that might be described as light to medium activity. The shoulder strap has a sliding D-ring, safety tether strap, which allows your camera to travel up and down its length. The tether also serves as a safety backup for the remote possibility of accidental camera and mount separation.

The tether attaches to the included split ring installed on your camera's strap lug with a swiveling snap-hook. The camera hub screws into the base of your camera's tripod socket with the supplied Allen Key. The back of the hub has a 0.25" threaded opening for mounting a tripod or quick-release plate without having to remove the hub from your camera. The hub's rubber washer is compressed during installation to help prevent unwanted loosening. Cotton Carrier recommends the use of a minute amount of LocTite as an added precaution. Always inspect your camera hub and receptacle for debris or wear that might negatively affect its performance.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work with a Canon R5 and a 70-200 RF lens?

A: Yes, the Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-1 can accommodate a Canon EOS R5 equipped with a Canon RF 70-200mm Lens.

Q: 2. How can I hike with one camera but two lenses? (ie. I have a wide angle on my camera but want to bring a zoom lens as well).

A: There are two possible solutions. If your lens has a tripod mounting collar with / 20 mounting threads , you can buy a side strap (holster) for Cotton Carrier which is meant to carry a second camera (check B and H website for side holsters for Cotton Carrier) . The holster may attach to your belt rather than the cotton carrier. You can then attach and carry the lens to the holster which will carry the lens on one side of your waist. This will work but the problem with this arrangement is that the heavy lens will hang on the side causing the weight distribution to be non-uniform and therefore uncomfortable. Alternately you can carry the camera with the heavy lens on the chest and the light lens on the side holster. However, I have found a better solution. I had earlier bought an Ikan brand padded camera bag from B and H which is reasonably priced, is meant to be carried as a backpack and can carry upto 14 inch long equipment (Camera, lens or camera plus lens) . Beside the camera and the lens, it has room for other equipment such as ND filters, small monitors etc. So I carry one camera with lens on my chest in Cotton Carrier, one camera with lens and other equipment in my backpack. It has the great advantage that all the weight is on the shoulders and comfortably distributed and none on the side (which is not convenient). By attaching the right weight lens to the camera carried on the chest in Cotton Carrier and storing the rest in backpack, you can make the weight on chest and back somewhat equal and thus more comfortable. This is my suggested solution.

Q: 3. Can this be worn under a backpack?

A: Yes, it could be. Please note that it will likely be putting weight in just about the same area as the straps to your backpack will. So, you may alternatively wish to consider mounting your camera to the backpack strap, for example with a Capture Clip (B&H# PECPBK3): https://bhpho.to/37P3pvd

Q: 4. The pictures I've seen suggest that because there is no real hip belt most of the weight will be on your shoulders. Is that true?

A: The relative distribution of the weight on one's shoulders, midsection, or even hips will depend on how long or short one makes the shoulder straps, how tightly one adjusts the belt to be, and how high or low the harness sits on one's abdomen. Having said that, as can be seen in the photos (and as I would expect), most people will probably find it most comfortable with the bulk of the weight on being on one's shoulders.

Q: 5. If I want to carry a Z8/Z9 with a 70-200 2.8 lens should I get the 10-Degree Angled Hub as well?

A: Two hubs are already included with the Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-2 (Gray), so you don't need to purchase any separately. But the slight 10 degree angle of the Cotton Carrier 10-Degree Hub makes it slightly more comfortable to use with a large and heavy camera with a large and heavy lens, so you may want to get that hub, but it is not required.

Q: 6. I also need to carry a backpack when I do outdoor trips. With this harness, it appears that I can't carry a backpack any more?

A: You can wear a backpack with the Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-1 (Gray)—the straps and the harness are thin enough for that. Another option would be to get a harness that attaches to the backpack straps, for example, the Keyhole Hands-Free Camera Harness (B&H # KEBCKHBL).

Q: 7. I need back support. Does this harness provide that?

A: Technically no, but it would certainly be much better than using a heavy camera on a traditional strap around your neck or shoulder. This harness would take some strain off your back compared to most other camera carriers.

Q: 8. Hi, how much weight can it carry? I am looking for something of the sort that can hold my Pentax K1 + at least my 28-105 which in total might be around 3 pounds

A: This would support your camera with even bigger lens (70-200mm f2.8)

Q: 9. I am 6'8" and wondering about positioning and length of the vest and the comfort whether it should ride higher or lower?

A: The most comfortable way to use the Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-1 (Gray) would depend on your specific body proportions and your personal taste.

Q: 10. Will this support a Nikon Coolpix P900?

A: Absolutely will work with the P900.

[0.635 lb] Since it's still winter here and I'm not much of a fan of cold weather I've only tested it once. However, after just 1/2 hour walk with my DSLR and Sigma 150 - 600mm lens I could already tell the difference on my shoulders compared to my sling strap. I was at the point of selling the lens and going with something lighter but really hated to do that. This harness solved my problem, at least until I age a few more years.

[0.635 lb] Just bought this harness for a trip to Alaska and I am so glad I did. I have a Nikon z8 camera with heavy lenses, and this harness lets me be hands free when hiking, but with easy access on a moments notice. Very comfortable and distributes weight well.

[0.635 lb] This harness works as good as I had hoped it would. While hiking, It keeps my DSLR with 100-400mm zoom attached in a position ready to access quickly for photo ops. It's quick and easy to take the harness on or off and to get it adjusted for use. It's also sleek enough to wear under a backpack. I was concerned when I read reviews about users having trouble with the Anodized-Aluminum Hub with Rubber Washer. I installed it with the included allen wrench using moderate torque and haven't had any issue with it coming loose or rotating.

[0.635 lb] I received this a couple weeks ago, had already had the over the shoulder carrier. I really like having both of the attachments, which allows me to have quick access to both of my cameras while out shooting.

[Gray] I use a flight vest style backpack harness with very wide straps, and this carrier fits perfectly due to the adjustable Velcro sizer. Way more versatile than the similar Peak Design product. I also appreciate the two built in safeties, one tethering the carrier to the backpack in addition to the Velcro, and the other tethering the camera to the carrier in addition to the hub.
