[Black] It looked like from the specs the Gitzo bag made for the traveler tripod would be too small for the 1542 model so tried this case and it is pretty much a perfect fit. I have a RRS BH-30 LR-II head mounted and it fits the case with 2-3 inches of space left in length. That is with the tripod not folded in the traveler mode. The diameter just fits the tripod, would not want it any less. It looks well made so should last thru many years of hikes. It is padded well enough it should provide plenty of protection when on my van floor with other travel gear. 5

[2.7 lb] This really is the best bag I found that fits my Flowtech comfortably- I tried three other ones. I found some better pictures of this bag on Ebay since the documentation here isnt all that helpful. Everything seems really well made with an excellent attention to the small things like YKK zips, lots of storage pockets, strong webbing, hard plastic handles, grab straps, hard plastic skid strips on the bottom, etc. Since Sachtler (Vitec) now owns Petrol this is the only choice for this bag- no more Petrol. Pricey, yes. I wish it was a third as expensive but it ticks all the boxes. 5

I'm glad that I did since Carbon Fiber's only weakness are scratches and fractures which can lead to failure over time. The bag is well padded and it looks like it will last through the life of my tripod. I have a Gitzo GT3541LS 6x CF Systematic Tripod, it will easily fit a Arca Swiss monoball head mounted within the bag. 5
