Hawke Sport Optics 3-12x56 Vantage 30 WA Riflescopefits the niche of a durable hunting scope with an extra-wide 56mm aperture for exceptional low-light performance and a fine-featured illuminated L4A Dot reticle that allows precise aiming without covering the background. The reticle lies in the second focal plane and has a brilliant target dot with red or green illumination and five brightness levels. Its outline resembles the German #4 style, where a target dot is surrounded by a fine crosshair and three thin posts. To generate bright and vivid images, the optical system is outfitted with precision-ground lenses that are treated with 11 layers of anti-reflection full multi-coatings. To ensure outstanding image clarity, free of ghost images and stray light, the interior of the housing is covered with a special black finish that does not reflect any light. This iteration of the series also features a widened angle (WA) of view: 42.8-10.7' field of view at 100 yards.

To match the quality of the optics, the housing is designed with strength, durability, and ergonomics in mind. Its defining features are a CNC-machined single-piece 30mm maintube, scratch-resistant anodized finish, water and fogproof performance, and a high-torque slip-free rubberized zoom ring. To protect windage and elevation turrets from accidental bumps, they have low-profile caps, and to guard optics from dirt and debris, the scope ships with two lens covers.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this 75mm bowl fit the Robus RCC-5560 tripopd? BH #RORCC5560

A: No, the Robus 75mm Video Bowl for Vantage Tripods is an exact replacement for the removable 75mm bowl insert that comes with your Robus Vantage series 3 and series 5 tripods, and will not work on other models.

Q: 2. are these large enough to cut 120mm film negatives in one cut?

A: Yes. The Dahle 40008 Vantage Scissors (8") can cut 120 film in a single cut.

Q: 3. Will I be able to use this head if i connect the Canon RC-V100 Remote Controller to a C300 Mk II? in other words is there any other option to connect this head to the camera?

A: The C300 Mark II only has a single LANC input. You should be able to have the C300 Mark II on the Vantage and also be connected to the RC-V100. However you will only be able to control the camera itself through one controller.

Q: 4. Thanks. But I still don't know the difference between "apparent'" and "actual" angle of view for comparison to Snypex 10x32. ?

A: The apparent angle of view is what it looks like through your binoculars: as if you were (in the case of the Opticron 10x32 Discovery WA ED Binoculars) 10 times (10x) closer to the object. The field of view measures the same thing in concrete terms, as 318' @ 1000 yd--the width of the view at 1000 yards distance.

Q: 5. Pls advise where is this bin made in. Tq.

A: The Opticron 10x32 Explorer WA ED-R Binoculars is made in China.

Q: 6. whats the dimention of this converter?

A: The Century Precision Optics WA-8XIF-20 0.8x Zoom-Thru Wide Angle IF Converter Lens - for Canon and Fujinon 20x, 21x and 22x IF Broadcast Lenses (B&H #CEWA8XIF20) is 5.5" (14cm) wide and x 2.62" (6.64cm) long.

Q: 7. What is "apparent angle of view"? The number is radically different for the "actual angle of view" for other products.

A: The correct "apparent angle of view" for the Opticron 10x32 Discovery WA ED Binoculars is 6.1 degrees, not the 61 degrees printed in the Specs--that's a mistake. All of the 10x32 binoculars that we have show an apparent angle of view between 5.0 and 7.5 degree.

Q: 8. Will the new Canon CN-E 70-200mm T4.4 Compact-Servo Cine Zoom Lens (EF Mount) With this head?

A: The Canon CN-E 70-200mm T4.4 Compact-Servo Cine Zoom Lens (EF Mount) B&H # CAE70200EF is not listed by Vinton as compatible. However the very similar Canon CN-E 18-80mm T4.4 COMPACT-SERVO Cinema Zoom Lens (EF Mount) B&H # CAE1880EF is. It is therefore our opinion that the 70-200mm will work. See here for the Vinten compatibility chart. a href= http://www.vinten.com/vantage/downloads/Vantage-Compatibility-Chart-New.pdf target= _blank http://www.vinten.com/vantage/downloads/Vantage-Compatibility-Chart-New.pdf/a

Q: 9. Hi, Does it work on the Sony z90v?

A: No, this lens is designed to be used on Canon and Fujinon broadcast lenses.

Q: 10. Will i be able to turn on a canon C330 mk ii or a C500 with this head?

A: You can use the Canon C100, C300 and probably the C500. Please email us to confirm the C500. prophoto@bhphoto.com.

[3 to 12x] Works fine, but need to be careful about how you install it. Check it with a level.

[2.715 lb] I have an Arca-Swiss clamp for my spotting scope so I can use the scope on any of my tripods and not need an additional one when engaged in wildlife photography. The special locking mechism of the Hawke table top tripod allows for firmly locking the Arca-Swiss clamp in place and having no issues with the heavy scope pivoting on the tripod. This is not provided with the other table top tripods that are designed for use with lightweight cameras.

[2.715 lb] I put this scope on my Henry 22lr lever action scope and shoots perfectly. Has Green and Red Illumination for when you are shooting in low light conditions. highly recommend this for a 22lr rifle of any kind. Hawke makes some of the best scopes i have ever used, I won 9 Hawke scopes.

[56 mm] This 4 power Hawke is a real “sleeper!”
I just put a 22 Magnum Barrel on my CZ455, since I don’t have anything in that caliber
I didn’t want to put much money in a scope as this was going to be a “beater” that I carried in the Swamp while on a boat.
A 4x with AO is unusual in that you usually get that on a variable power. I didn’t want too many functions, just a simple scope, but I would probably be shooting squirrels, rabbits, alligators, snakes, turtles: at ranges of 10 feet to a maximum of 100 yards.
And an Adjustable Onjective on a fixed power would be perfect.
I found it a balanced look, attached to the 3/8 dovetail on the CZ455. Not too big.
I was amazed at the clarity and light gathering of this $70 scope. And the AO was the icing on the cake. Easy to rotate and so I left it set at about 27 yards(most of my shots)
It was perfect! I was getting 3/4 inch groups with the CCI Gamepoint 40 grain. Leaning against a tree for a rest. WOW!
So I just ordered another one for my newly arrived Ruger RAR 22 Magnum in the black synthetic stock —a real “plain Jane” better suited for “in the boat” duty. (My CZ was bumped up to be my squirrel gun!
One of my Best Buys!!
Try one and you’ll see!

[30 mm] Clear sight. (.22 subsonic) on my 'sniper' .22. The drop reticle is spot on (tested to 150 yards. I have to remember that I must be in maximum focus for the reticle to be accurate but that is a mental training thing on my part. I can't believe that I can hit tiny targets at that distance with a bullet that drops like a lead balloon. It made me buy one for the high velocity .22LR (for a Tactical Solutions) and I'll be buying another for my .17HMR Volquartsen. Crazy-pleased. I love the side focus for range finding and helps my poor eyesight get focus. Sold on these things!
