The Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 1/4 Filter 3x3"helps to reduce the value of the highlights while slightly lowering the overall contrast. This filter is especially useful for smoothing out and softening facial wrinkles and other blemishes. While designed for use with movies, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters provide little loss of detail across the image. The 1/4 density provides a very small amount of contrast and highlight reduction and allows for a soft, pastel-like quality of light.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 3 x 3" / 76.2 x 76.2mm.

A: Tiffen has upgraded their glass to water white as well as making sure the ND material is a true grey and not green/brown. I have personally seen them and I am impressed. Therefore it is my opinion that not only would these filters would work well on the RED cameras in question but on any camera.

A: No, the Vaxis VFX 95 Black Mist 1/4 Filter for Tilta Mirage Matte Box does not come with a frame for s standard Matte Box. This is made specifically for the Tilta Mirage VND Kit.

[5.5 x 5 x 1"] I was caught between Moment and Tiffen, but I ultimately opted for this one after extensive reviews on YouTube.This is an excellent product that takes videos and photos to another level. 1/8 is perfect for most shoots as its intensity is low. I recommend this product to anyone who wants a versatile lens diffusion. 5

[5.5 x 5 x 1"] I use this softening filter in certain landscape situations, not necessarily for portraiture. And guess what, that can be lots of fun! I use it with my 105 Nikor micro lens occasionally and can get the most dreamy look, just gorgeous. No kidding. I also have the 77mm size, pro mist 3 for the 70-200 zoom. Really can't tell much difference between the #2 and #3 strength. Get the black version if you don't want some halos around the highlights. I like the halos personally. There's a reason why their diffusion filter is so trusted and praised even years after the competition has had time to catch up. You get so much value for your money and you can honestly never go wrong with using either of these filters. 5

This is the filter for you if you have ever wanted the same thing! And for the price it’s an easy pick up! I don’t even take it off. Ever.
