The PolarPro 67mm QuartzLine UV Filterfrom PolarPro 67mm QuartzLine UV Filteris a general-use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter.

This filter is constructed from quartz glass for enhanced durability. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, eight layers of anti-reflection coatings offer scratch protection to the filter surface while promoting clarity and color fidelity. The coatings associated with the PolarPro 67mm QuartzLine UV Filter also result in an improved beading effect when in contact with water or oil, allowing for more efficient cleaning.

The quartz glass is set within a brass filter ring with side knurlings. Together, the brass material and knurlings prevent jamming and provide additional strength as well as a textured grip when mounting or removing this filter from a lens.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it easy to unscrew from the lens?

A: PolarPro 77mm QuartzLine Circular Polarizer Filter is easy to unscrew from the lens.

Q: 2. Can an additional filter be attached to this one? For example Helix series.

A: The PolarPro 77mm QuartzLine UV Filter has a front thread of 82mm.

Q: 3. Is this an ND-16 Filter?

A: No. An ND-16 reduces exposure about 4 stops. This is a polarizer that will only reduce a mere 1.3 stops. This is mainly used to make skies more contrasty, remove glare and reflections from things like glass and water. If you're looking into an ND-16 take a look at this instead. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1418315-REG/polarpro_77_nd16_pl_quartzline_77mm_nd16_pl_filter.html This is a ND-16 with a polarizer (still just 4 stops of reduced light). It's a 2-in-1.

Q: 4. Is it easy to see the effect of the polarizer and set it properly since the filter is so dark?

A: It is not as easy as when you have the ND and polarizer filters separate, but the best option is to increase the ISO a lot to focus and also to set the polarization and then turn the ISO down to take the picture.

Q: 5. Can this filter be used with Sony 24-70 GMII with lenshood on?

A: Yes, this will work with the Sony 24-70mm GMII lens hood. The hood features a "window" to access the polarizing ring.

Q: 6. Lens cap fits?

A: The PolarPro 82mm QuartzLine Circular Polarizer Filter has a front 82mm filter thread. So, it can use many front lens caps. These are some of them: https://bhpho.to/3KX6QmZ.

Q: 7. Will it fit a 82mm Sigma 70 -200 ?

A: Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens has an 82mm front filter thread, therefore you can screw in the PolarPro 82mm QuartzLine UV Filter.

Q: 8. does this filter lean towards a warm or cool color filter? thanks

A: The PolarPro 67mm QuartzLine Circular Polarizer Filter is color neutral and doesn't lean towards a warm or cool color filter.

Q: 9. What is the filter thickness? Not stated in the specs. Thx

A: Screw-on filters like the Polar Pro ND64 QuartzLine do not traditionally specify filter thickness. We measured ours at the store and without the filter threads, the filter measures 6.21mm thick.

Q: 10. Does this filter work on the Canon RF 28-70 f2 lens? The lens has a 95mm filter thread but its coarse I believe

A: The PolarPro 95mm QuartzLine Circular Polarizer Filter is compatible with the Canon RF 28-70mm f/2 L USM Lens.

[67 mm] The build quality on this thing is pretty good. It turns very smoothly with nice resistance. Just make sure it (or any stepping ring) is attached to your lens firmly or else you’ll end up unscrewing the filter when you start turning it.
It doesn’t block as much light as I thought it would, so don’t be too worried about that. I used it in a city at 1AM and it didn’t seem to reduce the exposure at all (I was using it on a Sigma 35mm 1.4 DG DN).
I also haven’t noticed any crazy color shifts, and if anything it makes colors deeper and richer a tiny bit, so again I wouldn’t worry about that.
I haven’t used filters extensively, but it seems like if there are bright points of light be you’ll probably see little specks of light reflecting in different areas of the picture. Maybe this is because I was using a stepping ring and therefore separating the filter from the front element by a little bit. Not sure.
It’s a great filter, and probably one of the highest quality in its category. So if you’re considering spending a bit more money for this one, think about whether you have other lenses with bigger filter threads. If you have (or might want) a lens with a large filter thread, get the filter in a size that will fit your largest lens and just use a step up ring to use it on smaller lenses.

[0.3 lb] This is a great filter, it showed up today so I don't have a lot of time behind it but so far it's good. It comes in a nice durable case that is a stiff rubber/metal construction. The one thing I really liked is that the filter threads onto the case and then has a rubber cover that pops over the top keeping it very protected when not in use. The box and packaging offered a great presentation when unboxing.....BUT. It's a little large. I like lower profile filters so as not to obstruct my lens hood. I am using a sony FE 200-600mm lens and the lens hood is sealed onto the lens via a rubberized gasket. Installing this filter is not easy on this lens and leaves a big risk for cross threading, so it will go to the sigma lens on my Nikon. Otherwise this is an exceptional lens filter of exceptional build quality and I highly recommend this filter as an overall general use every day filter to, if nothing else, protect your investment.

[Brass] I love these filters, I used to buy B+W filters for the past 20 years until I bought and used my first PolarPro. I decided to switch given the frequent fake copies of B+W that started to appear in the market via Amazon. But then when I started using PolarPro, I realized the great quality of materials and advantages over other brands e.gr. The rugged side that facilitates removal, great optics and finishing

[Brass] What is there to say but this is probably the best polarizer you can get for the money. Haven't noticed any color cast of anything. Great brand and great polarizer.

[67 mm] I will soon be purchasing the PolarPro 82mm Peter McKinnon Mist Edition II VND ND4 to ND32 (2 to 5 stops) and (6 to 9 stops) filter. They do not produce vignetting or strange colors.
