Whether you're making cyanotypes, sun prints, or other alternative processes that use a contact printing frame, the 20 x 24" Photographers Formulary Contact Print Frame 20x24from Photographers Formulary Contact Print Frame 20x24is an ideal choice to make your personalized work. The frame is made of a solid 2" ash wood with a felt-lined 1/2" plywood that is hinged, so it can be easily removed from the frame. By placing the material against the museum-grade glass, positioning the felt-lined backing, and closing it with the swing arm locking mechanism, it keeps the print completely flat for exposure to light. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can u get this in bigger size?

A: We do carry a 1.1 (4000ml) gallon version from the same manufacturer, here: https://bhpho.to/2UNUhAp

Q: 2. Does this frame have enough depth to hold a photopolymer plate?

A: The Photographers' Formulary Select Contact Print Frame (11 x 14") is for making contact prints in the darkroom. The back presses tight to the glass to hold the negatives flat against the front glass. If the photopolymer plate has more depth than a sheet of darkroom paper, it will not fit.

Q: 3. Will this frame hold glass negatives?

A: No, the frame is made for thinner material and might actually break a glass negative.

Q: 4. Can this product be used for Lith developing?

A: Photographers' Formulary Potassium Bromide can be used as an ingredient for lith developer.

Q: 5. How long can Glycin be stored without opening the package?

Q: 6. What is the expire date of this item?

A: The expiration date is 2017. It does not have a specific one but the manufacture gives it that time frame from when they make it.

Q: 7. if I get 100 grams Potassium Ferricyanide should I get 250 grams Ferric Ammonium Citrate to get proper soulution for cyanotype prints ?

A: This would be a proper mixture for cyanotype prints.

Q: 8. What are the outside dimensions of this frame?

A: The Photographers' Formulary Select Contact Print Frame (11 x 14") has outside dimensions of 16x20 inches.

Q: 9. What is the Thickness of the ash frame? It's width is the 2" stated, correct? How thick is the museum quality glass? What makes it museum quality? Anti-reflection?

A: Yes, the Photographers' Formulary Select Contact Print Frame (16 x 20") is two inches thick. The manufacture does not list the thickness of the glass. The glass is made to reduce reflections.

Q: 10. What country is it made in?

A: The Photographers' Formulary Tyvek Apron is made in China.

[22 lb] Really sturdy and much thicker than I originally anticipated--it's a good thing for my uses, but if you have a low clearance under a UV box, you might want to measure it first before ordering. Obviously well made, and pleasant to use.

[22 lb] I haven't used this contact printing frame yet, but it's a low tech item and should work just fine. The frame itself is sturdy and nicely built; Photographer's Formulary is a no-nonsense, capable outfit. No reason it shouldn't perform well and last many years.
My only caveat with this type of printer is Newton rings. This happens when the glass from the frame and the negative are in direct contact. The frame assures the negative will have firm contact with the printing paper, a must for contact prints. As long as the glass pane of the frame doesn't make Newtonian contact with the negative, it should work out OK. Time will tell.

[22 lb] The contact frame is very solid. I am really enjoying making cyanotypes and this sure beats using an old picture frame and clips. Glad I decided to spend the money to upgrade. Well worth it if you're going to do alternative printing.

[22 lb] I needed a larger printing frame quickly, for a Cyanotype project, and was happy to find this affordably priced one. The frame arrived the day after I ordered it online and I started using it the same day. The one I received is sturdily built. The glass is as I expected it to be, clear: not frosted. The exposure times are comparable to exposures made through a piece of low iron glass I have in a smaller frame. The rubber feet are a nice touch, they make it easier to get your fingers under the frame to pick it up.
