This Avenview 4K DisplayPort Transmitter SC Fiber Optic Cablehas been designed to extend 4K (4096x2160) 60 Hz video and multi-channel audio formats to any 4K compatible monitor up to 984' when used with the available separately receiver. The transmitter supports HBR2 cable assembly to handle up to 5.4 Gb/s/lane data rate. The box type design can be easily installed into any environment as well as behind a monitor or rack mounted on a rack shelf. This feature provides an installer or user a complete solution for rack-mounted 4K sources, streaming network connected devices, and UHD monitors.

Currently using high speed HDMI and MBP does not wake from sleep when connected to external monitor. End up having to reboot and basically unplugging external monitor. Any suggestions? Bought monitor at B&H and love it. Worked like a charm with mid 2010 MBP connected with display port.

A: I have the same set up and this cable works nicely. Both the MBP and the Dell wake up fine from sleep mode. The only time it acts funny is if I plug in the cable with the MBP's lid down and then open it and try to wake it. To correct that I unplug it, wake the MBP, and plug it back in. I've had no need to reboot the Dell with this cable.

[1x SC (Fiber)] This does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I have a 4K Ben Q monitor and a 2015 MacBook Pro that I have running in another room because of fan noise in my studio. I have an optical thunderbolt cable but couldn’t get 4K 60hz at the tail end of my Thunderbolt Daisy chain. No cable would allow me to get 4K at 60hz at the distance I needed. The longest cable run I could do was 6ft or so and that was unreliable. I got a very short DP cable run directly into the repeater and then I ran a 25ft display port cable outside the room and tacked it to the wall. Works perfectly. Make sure you have the shortest possible cable running directly to this box from the source. This is a great solution and doesn’t require you to spend $350+ on optical cabling that dies after a couple years because the lasers and sensors overheat. 5

[850 nm] I wrapped a 250ft Outdoor POE CAT6 Network Cable on this reel and it really works well. Not the most durable reel I have ever used but for a network cable it's just what I needed. 5

[850 nm] SO glad I bought this little reel. I use it to store my audio cables that have a strong bias, and don't seem to want to be wrapped in the usual over-under method, so the reel is the perfect solution, making setup and tear down easy and quick. It also has a larger core radius, so the cables aren't stressed (critical angle or something like that). It has a brake, which I don't use, so I simply removed it. It is plastic - so it's quite light and easy to carry. It seems to be strong enough to last many years. The only downside to this reel is that because it is so very light, it tends to follow me as I pull the cables off, but putting a heavy mic stand on the leg easily fixes that. Honestly, this little baby is great - especially considering that I was originally looking to buy one of the metal reels - but those things cost about ten times the price! This reel isn't made to be stackable, but that is absolutely fine with me. (Man, rereading my review here makes it look like I work for the company, but I assure you that is not the case!) Anyway - really glad I bought this baby! Cheers! 5
