This is a manual adapter, so lens functions that rely on electronic communication with the camera body (autofocus, AE metering, image stabilization, etc.) will be disrupted.

The Alpha's are meant to be put on cameras that have mirrors and the E's on mirrorless camera's. You can, with an adapter mount an Alpha on an E mount camera. The adapter holds the lens at the same distance as if there was a mirror box. However, you cannot mount an E lens on a Alpha mount. The lens would be too far away from the sensor and the image would not be in focus. What camera and what lens are you thinking about?
