Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this have waterfall keys?

A: No, the keys on the Arturia KeyLab 88 MkII Hammer-Action MIDI Controller have a very small lip at the end. They are not waterfall style keys with a totally flat edge.

Q: 2. Does it include the wooden feet as shown in the pics? Thanks in advance

A: No, the wooden legs are not included. This is a brand new item which has not yet been shipped to dealers. At this time Arturia only lists that availability and pricing are to be determined for the wooden legs. More information should be available after the keyboard is in stock so please do check back with us.

Q: 3. Is bhphotovido.com an authorized arteria dealer for the minifuse 4?

A: Yes, B&H is an authorized dealer for Arturia Products, including the Arturia MiniFuse 4 Portable 4x4 USB Type-C Audio/MIDI Interface.

Q: 4. Can I use 2 different pairs of speakers, either interchangeably (A/B comparison) as well as all 4 speakers at the same time?

A: The Arturia MiniFuse 4 Portable 4x4 USB Type-C Audio/MIDI Interface does have four analog outputs, which could conceivably be routed to four different speakers, but it does not have any switching controls. For A/B comparison between multiple speakers, you would really want to use a monitor controller.

Q: 5. Hi there anyone tried to use Arturia Beatstep Controller & Sequencer, in roland V-1HD video switcher? I need to control the audio and add some custom keys to effects. Thanks

A: The Arturia Beatstep is a universal MIDI controller that allows users to control software programs. You may use it to control audio functions within a program and parameters within the given program, but not the Roland V-1HD.

Q: 6. can the akai professional mpk minimkii work on my macbook pro with 10.10?

A: Hi! Happy to help! The MPK mini MKII is supported for use on macOS Yosemite 10.10. But, for the best results with the included software, we recommend macOS 10.12 - 10.14.

Q: 7. Will this control Cakewalk Sonar or Artist DAWs?

A: Yes, that is possible, there is no template available, so you will have to assign each function from the DAW software and save the settings as a template.

Q: 8. Are the rotary controls on this continuous encoders, or pots that stop at each end?

A: The rotary controls on the Nektar Technology Impact LX49+ 49-Key USB MIDI Controller Keyboard have pots that stop at each end. They are not continuous.

Q: 9. Can it control 2 midi synths at a time, each with distinct, but synced patterns? If so, what to know when setting this up? THanks!

A: Yes. You can control up to three devices with the Beatstep. Here is a forum post from Arturia on how to do it. https://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=89269.0

Q: 10. Is the shelf/extension for a laptop an included standard accessory? How large of a laptop can it accomodate?

A: The Arturia KeyLab 88 MkII Hammer-Action MIDI Controller and Software (White) does include a laptop plate, the dimensions of which are 16" x 10.3".

[LCD] Ordered an Aruria Keylab 88mkii.
Process was straightforward, easy to navigate, and I recieved my keyboard quickly and safely.

I would recommend and also buy from here again without question.

I haven't needed support but I'm thinking based off of my experience so far I would not be dossapointed.

[16.52 lb] My husband played a real piano & keyboards he was younger but hasn't played for years. He wanted to start again and debated between the KeyLab 88 MKII and a more traditional stand alone piano-type keyboard. He's so happy we went this route.

He uses it with Logic Pro and feels the KeyLab offers the perfect amount of features without adding unnecessary things. He hasn't yet figured it all out, but it's great to sit down and play freely or to record using the software and create a song.

The build is excellent, with a metal body and wood accents. The action of the key bed is excellent and is much closer to a real piano than non-weighted keys. The additional weight of the keys makes playing at different volume levels very easy.

One complain that he had was the lack of documentation on how to set it up and integrate it with different DAWs, but Arturia's tech support is top notch and quickly replied with a long and detailed emailing showing step by step directions on how to set it up with Logic Pro. Plus, their website has a great FAQ section and detailed user manuals that cover how to use most of the keyboard's features.

In addition to a great keyboard, the unit comes with some wonderful software. It includes Ableton Live Lite for those who don't already have a DAW. It also comes with Piano V/V2, which is a piano software add-on worth $249 by itself and Analog Lab, which is a collection of older (from the 80s I think), classic synthesizer sounds worth $199.

So, the keyboard itself is a great item for the price, but when all the additional software is included, the KeyLab 88 MkII is a wonderful item.

[LCD] I had the Keylab61 MKII, but needed the hammer-action keys for orchestral arrangments, and just because I like the feel of a real piano. I read reviews that said the action is heavy, it is, but not in a bad way. Most real pianos I have played have a heavier action so maybe I am used to it.

Connectivity: Yeah, it's amazing with Cubase. I found a script online and I was off to the races. I open up the MIDI control center and adjust some user defined MIDI CC presets for a lot of my orchestral VST's, and easy peasy.

Build Quality: The Komplete Kontrol everyone hems and haws about is plastic and more expensive, it also doesn't integrate as well as they would like you to believe. This thing is metal, and beautiful with wood accents. No, you don't get a big LCD screen, like I need another screen, I have two 32 screens already.

Bottom line, if you want something that you can feel expressive on, has all the MIDI sliders and knobs you need to fiddle about, or make your orchestral arrangements sound more realistic, this is it. I love my Arturia. They are like teenage engineering but affordable.

[16.52 lb] A really good option if you're looking for a mid-sized midi keyboard that also has solid integration with many DAWs (Logic here).
Especially rad if you use some Arturia VSTs, as the integration there is especially tight.

Has some really cool features I dig; check out YT vids for the rundown.
No aftertouch, but it also isn't priced for aftertouch.
Included software is really nice.
40%(ish) recycled plastic, heck yeah.

An excellent board for surfin sounds.

[16.52 lb] I was looking for a controller that had a real piano feel but also integrated out of the box w/ my DAW (Logic). It was between this and the M-Audio Hammer 88. This one looks and feels much higher quality and has a lot more onboard controls that allow me to do most of what I need in Logic right from the Arturia controller. It looks really great in the studio too!

[LCD] Great keyboard and was a great deal with the V Collection 6, some confusion in the DAW control but totally manageable

[16.52 lb] This is a solid MIDI controller with nice feeling semi-weighted keyboard. It has lots of integrated controls for modulating the included Arturia synth plugins and good integration with many popular DAW software packages. I opted for the semi-weighted 61 key version due to recovering from 60+ years of making parts and hand issues. There is an 88 key piano weighted version also.

[16.52 lb] This thing is really sturdy and has very good keyboard feel. There are better-feeling keyoards but nowhere near this price range. The pads are surprisingly good as well. Connectivity is above expectations especially when paired to Analog Lab or the included presets.
