Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work with the Canon t2i?

A: This will be compatible with the Canon T2I.

Q: 2. Does this work on the full frame A7R?

A: Don't know for sure. But I had no problem using it on an e-mount with a Sony A6000! Love it.

Q: 3. The adapter is 1/2?

A: It is not. This is an adapter that will allow you to use B4 Lenses that are for 2/3 cameras. They do not make such adapters for 1/3 and 1/2 B4 Lenses.

Q: 4. @chris I am aware of that but my question was for the 39.95 version, I didn't quite understand your answer in regards to that?

A: Yes, the FotodioX Konica AR Lens to Canon EOS Camera Adapter B&H # FOPCEAKAR MFR # K(AR)-EOS-G is compatible with the 5D Mark III.

Q: 5. Will this adapter control the aperture on Minolta A mount auto focus lenses?

A: It will not. This is a manual adapter that does not support lens functions that rely on electronic communication with the camera body.

Q: 6. May i know the exact focal length when we mount konica 40mm AR to canon 5d3? Didn't understand the 1.4x glass. Thanks

A: A Konica AR 40mm lens would have the same focal length on the 5D Mark III with this adapter.

Q: 7. I see the 5d Mark III is not listed in the compatible cameras, can it work with this adapter?

A: The 5D Mark III is actually listed. See above^

Q: 8. Has anyone used it with an FS7 with the current firmware which includes the 2K centercrop? And what have been your findings?

A: It works on fs5 & fs7 in the centercrop mode. I'm using it with Fujinon 15x9 with the 2x engaged. In the lens 1x mode it has partial usage. Additional zoom is still available through Sony clear image zoom function. Useful range is about 20 feet plus with the 15x9.The other option is the MTF Services adapter at about $1895. It has lens correction and allows you to operate without using the center scan mode at a lower zoom ratio. Hope that helps.

Q: 9. I have an Olympus DE M10 Markii and Konica Hexanon 50mm f1.7 lens. I asked about an adaptor at a local camera shop and they said some people can't get some adaptors off the camera. The only review here said tight fit. That's okay, but I want to be sure I can get it off. Also, does using Konica lens produce good portraits (seeing that it is now comparable to a 100mm lens on 4/3)? Thank you for assistance. I became aware of B & H through Robin Wong videos. Do I purchase through his link?

A: the fotodiox adapter is designed to properly mount your Hexanon lens to a micro four thirds camera. It's also designed to release the lens when you're done. As with any manufactured product, quality control is rarely 100%. There are no blanket guarantees. As to it being a suitable portrait lens for your camera, it certainly is, though you'll have no auto focus and metering options will be limited. If Robin Wong has a link to the B&H website and it benefits him if you use it, then please do so.

Q: 10. I see a question below about a 40mm maintaining the same focal length with this 1.4x adapter. though the focal length is the same, does the adapter affect the angle of view?

A: Yes, you're right; That answer says the focal length is maintained. As such, the field of view would also remain the same.

[Sony E] Came quicker than it was supposed to. I like it because you can easily use it between multiple lenses . I have one for pentax and need a flat small screwdriver to remove. This Nikon has a easy red button like a normal lens to remove.

[2 x 2 x 2"] First of all, here is the equipment I'm using to test it: Nikon D7000 (16MP), Nikon 18-200mm VR (not VRII), a Konica 80-200mm f/4.0, tripod, and Vello wireless release. Summary: Definitely worth the money if you have a Konica AR lense you want to use. Test Technique - I mounted the D7000 on a tripod and used a Vello wireless shutter release to reduce any shake. I focused the camera manually using a loupe on the display with the display zoomed to maximum. The subject was a tree about 100 yards away. I focused on the leaves. I set the Konica lense to 140mm to give an equivalent zoom length of 200mm (taking into account the adater's lense) and compared this shot to the same shot using Nikon lense set to 200mm. I then opened the raw images in Photoshop and zoomed to 400% where I could see individual pixels. After careful examination, I could see no noticeable difference in the two shots. I looked at the sharpness of the leaf edges and chromatic aberations about 1/3 out from the center of the images. I realize that chromatic aberations and sharpness issues will be more obvious at the image edges, but the best spot to examine the leaves was not at an edge. Also, the D7000 is only 16 megaixels which limits how far you can take my test results, but in you have an AR lense you want to use, the cost of this adapter is a whole lot cheaer than buying a new lense! Two grips I have are the the adapter came with a front cap but camera body cap. That makes no sense since either side on the adapter lense can be damaged! Also the pouch could be made out of better feeling material, especially considering it ships with only one side capped. However, I have an extra body cap so I'm using it on the adapter. But I'm buying it for the adapter, not two caps and a bag so I'll keep it. It just gives a sense of cheapness that isn't really deserved.

[2 x 2 x 2"] I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was very well made and seems sturdy. I don’t know why, but I expected it to be the same type of plastic that some Canon lenses are made from, but it’s actually metal and very well built. It works just fine on my Canon 70D with Konica AR Bellows setup and also when directly attaching a few Konica Hexanon AR lenses which include a 300mm f4.5, 80-200mm f3.5, 50mm f1.7, and 35mm f2.8... The 35mm and 50mm have slight softening at wide open apertures on my 70D camera body, but it’s pretty nice in my opinion. The softening is not there when I use them reversed in the bellows for macro shots. I’ll take that minor issue on those two lenses in exchange for being able to use all four of these lenses directly on my DSLR especially the two small lenses on my old school macro setup with the 70D body. My Konica 80-200mm and 300mm are awesome on this setup with no problems whatsoever. I’ll be doing some bird and wildlife photography this weekend and pixel peeping in Darktable just to verify the sharpness, but so far (judging from zoomed images on back of camera) everything seems legit. I’ll post again if it ain’t sweetness!!! Seriously... For less than 40 fazoolies it’s dope as heck!!!

I’m an avid 35mm film shooter ( even in 2018) and have a nice collection of Konica Autoreflex bodies and lenses that I’ve refurbished and truly enjoy, this little jobbie gives me the double pleasure of adding those Konica lenses to an expanding love for digital capture as well. Plus, it engages my creativity and my images can stand out from the cookie cutter crowd of images floating around the ether!!!! I hope...

I WILL purchase again... I’ll get all the “other brand” to Canon adapters from this manufacturer then start buying old lenses for my 70D.

[Sony E] All metal with very good finish. Easily used with excellent focal range to infinity as designed. Don't let those sharp, Konica AR lenses sit on a shelf....

[Metal, Brass] The thickness of the adapter was within + or - 0.0015 (0.04 mm) which made for sharp images at all 4 corners. Keep in mind that the adapter effectively increases the focal length of the lens by about 1.4x.

[Metal, Brass] I had some nearly new Konica AR lenses and decided to make use of them via this adapter and it serves the purpose well. It is solidly made though not too heavy, the inside of the adapter is a nice matte black, the outside is smooth. It was reasonably priced. Not a lot more to say because no electronics are involved. If you need to adapt Konica AR lenses to E mount then this is a good adapter for that purpose.

[0.2 lb] I am using this product on my Konica Hexanon AR manual lenses. It works great on my Sony A6000. It is a quality build and the adapter fits well to the camera and the lenses fit well to the adapter. While it costs more than many of the adapters on the market, having quality and precision with the adapter makes it worth it. I have no complaints.

[0.2 lb] With the help from B&H online chat, I was able to get my questions answered which helped me purchase the adapter. This meant I now have the use of several great lenses I otherwise could no longer use. I'm very happy!
