Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this adapter allow correct infinity focus?

A: Just saw the answer No when responding to question below, about use on a Panasonic G1. While it's true that the camera will not auto-focus (at any distance) manual focus at infinity is done exactly as intended. Could Maria's mount or focussing screw be damaged?

Q: 2. Will this work with the original Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera that has a Super-16 sensor?

A: Yes, the Metabones Speed Booster Ultra 0.71x Adapter for Canon FD/FL-Mount Lens to Micro Four Thirds-Mount Camera, B&H # MESPFDM43BM4, would be compatible for use with the original (now discontinued) Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera.

Q: 3. Will this work on the Blackmagic pocket cinema camera & micro camera?

A: Yes this will work for both of those cameras, and any Micro Four Thirds mount cameras as well.

Q: 4. What is the crop factor with this adaptor?

A: As the adapter has no optics in it, the crop factor is unchanged; full-frame/35mm to MFT has a 2x crop factor for equivalent focal length.

Q: 5. What is the difference between this version and the older MB_SPFD-m43-BM3?

A: The older model adapts to both FD/FL lens and the new one only adapts to FD lens.

Q: 6. Can this product be used with the Panasonic GX7?

A: Yes, you may purchase the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Canon FD Mount Lens to Micro Four Thirds Mount Camera to connect Canon manual focus FD-mount lenses on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Q: 7. Will this Vello adapter, LA-MFT-CFD, work on a Panasonic G1 for use with Canon FD lenses? Also, do the Canon FD lenses need to be the newer style black version or will the older ones with chrome locking ring work as well? Thanks

A: I cant really help, I havent tried it on Panasonic G1. Sorry.

Q: 8. Will this work with Panasonic Lumix GH1?

A: Yes, it is compatible with the GH1.

Q: 9. This speedbooster says it works on both FD and FL lenses, but other FD adapters I've tried did not allow aputure adjustment. Does this speedbooster allow aputure adjustment for FL lenses?

A: The aperture adjustment will be done directly on the FD or FL lens.

Q: 10. If I'm planning on putting a FD lens on the BMPCC 4K, do I still need a adapter or does the speedbooster act as both?

A: This Metabones Speed Booster Ultra 0.71x Adapter for Canon FD/FL-Mount Lens to Micro Four Thirds-Mount Camera is going to allow your Canon FD mount lens to fit onto the Micro 4/3 mount on the BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, so there is no additional adapter needed.

[5 x 4 x 3"] The adapter works as intended and has a good grip both on the lens and on the camera.

As I had no experience using adapters, nor using FD lenses, using this adapter was a little bit difficult initially, but then I looked for some examples in youtube and understood how to position the internal components in relation to the ones in the lens.

I used it with a 50mm FD lens and a 70-200mm FD lens, on a OMD E-M10 mk. II. Everything went fine after I learnt how to properly set the adapter.

[Metal] It does exactly what it is supposed to. I like being able to use lenses I know and trust despite brand posession and lens mount. It is built solidly and I trust its design.

[5 x 4 x 3"] I am using this adapter to mount a Canon FD 1.4. It is a solid, sturdy, and well-made adapter. I just had to unlock the aperture on the lens so it can easily fit into the adapter. No issues so far after a week or so of usage.

[0.64 lb] I recently bought a Panasonic Lumix GH2 and had my grandfathers set of Canon FD mount prime lenses. This adapter fits wonderfully. I now have a wonderful selection of lenses to use with my GH2. Great product!

[5 x 4 x 3"] It's super easy to use. Now I can use a vintage 12 piece coleccion of lenses of an analogue camera, it can't get any better!

[0.64 lb] I am very glad that I ordered this mount, I also have a mount from Fotodiox and Dot Line is much better, It is much more solid, once it is attached it is a very tight and sturdy fit. I will be ordering another one when I get my next camera.

[0.64 lb] I have these adaptors fitted to every Canon FD lens I use, but I cannot speak with authority, because it is the only brand I have ever used, which I think, speaks volumes. However, to each I add a triangular arrow-head (stick-on, made of gaffer-tape), visible from outside the casing as the adaptor mates with the camera, so as not to cause wear from groping around when fitting the two together, thus possibly causing unnecessary wear. I wish manufactuers could get their heads around the fact that as the adaptor and camera go together, all reference marks disappear from view. All Fotodix adaptors for Canon and 'Tamron' (and that is about a dozen in total), work well and are OK for infinity focus as well.
