A: There is no aperture adjustment on this adapter, if your Nikon lens has an aperture ring, then it can be adjusted that way. If your lens has no aperture ring, then the aperture will be closed all the way down to f/22 or whatever the smallest aperture is, unless the adapter has an aperture control ring.

Q: 4. Will auto diaphragm work with this adapter? I mean, can I focus the lens wide open and when taking the picture, the diaphragm will close to the stop down aperture?

A: My Hexanon lenses from my Konica camera adapt to my Nikon D100 camera, but I can't view through wide open aperture. It's not too inconvenient focusing in reasonable light because the focus indicator light still works. All other settings are set manually in conjunction with an external light meter. My main objective was to have the use of otherwise very good lenses.I hope this helped somewhat. PS B&H is very helpful; and they have great free instructional videos.

[0.1 lb] Just recently inherited more old Nikon lenses. They adapted nicely to my XT-3. The build of the adapter is nice and solid. Using the old lenses on mirrorless is nice, no auto focus, but focus indicator works, and real-time exposure. Make sure you set your camera to shoot without lens. One thing that the company doesn't mention is how to remove the lens from the adapter. Pull the pin sticking out toward the camera body then you can twist and remove. Definitely a recommendation from me. Price is great as well. 5

[3 x 3 x 3"] I'm thrilled to be using my Nikon F-mount lenses on my Fuji X-E3. This "dumb" adaptor is just what I need to use my Nikkor & Voigtlander lenses on my X-mount digital camera. For the folks that say they can't fire the shutter, for Sony cameras, navigate to the Menu, Setup, Release without lens and Enable-it's that easy. 5

[Aluminum] Adapter feels great and locks firmly to the lens as well as the camera. No wiggle/play when adjusting the aperture on the few smaller Nikon lenses I own (28 and 50mm AI-S lenses). I have no qualms with full manual as I regularly also shoot with an FE2. I did wish they had put some kind of instruction on the box or in the package to show how to release the lens from the adapter: you slide the metal 'pin' back (towards the camera) and then you can turn the lens to release it. There is no real indication on the adapter that it slides in that direction and the roundness had me pushing and pulling up and down on it. But once you know that little trick, it's a cinch. 5

[3 x 3 x 3"] C Mount lenses have some pretty severe vignetting on X Mount Cameras, but there’s nothing like an old C mount lens When you find a nice one. It does make for a kind of a cool look so it’s worth spending next to nothing on this adapter. 5
