Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this what I need for Mark IV lenses to work on the RF 6?

A: Yes. This Canon EF-EOS RF adapter will allow you to mount your Canon DSLR lenses onto your Canon EOS R6 mirrorless camera body.

Q: 2. Hi, I have a Samsung mini and I recently purchased a c mount lens adapter. I was wondering if this adapter would fit my c mount adapter.

A: This is an adapter that allows you to mount Canon EF lenses on cameras with a C-Mount. I am not familiar with a camera called the Samsung Mini but if you are referring to one of their Smart Phones this product is unlikely to work. Feel free to email us directly at provideo@bhphoto.com if you require further assistance.

Q: 3. The EF Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art is loose when attached to this adapter. There is some play when handling the lens while it is attached. Is this an isolated issue or is this an issue with all EF lenses when attached to this adapter?

A: Based on our adapter and lens in the superstore, we experienced very little play, though with most items there is a degree of tolerance that is typically met before they are approved by manufacturers for sale. I'd recommend reaching out over live video-chat to see if our team can identify if your amount of play/wiggle is "acceptable".

Q: 4. Will this work to adapt Canon NFD lenses to the Sigma FP? The Canon lenses are already converted to EF mount.

A: A native Canon FD-mount manual focus lens designed for use on manual Canon 35mm SLR cameras would not be compatible for use on the Viltrox EF-L Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF or EF-S-Mount Lens to L-Mount Camera. However, if your lens was somehow converted to a native Canon EF-mount lens mount, then yes, the above lens mount adapter would be compatible for your usage needs.

Q: 5. Do Canon EF-S lens also fit on this adapter?

A: Sorry no, a EF-S lens will not work with this adapter. I suspect it is because the rear glass element of the lens will hit the aperture blades.

Q: 6. Does this adaptor work with Celestron Reflector telescopes if I have the the T-mount?

A: Technically it should fit but a direct RF t-mount adapter such as this Vivitar would be better: https://bhpho.to/3yrf0wI

Q: 7. Is it made in Japan? Does it come with cover caps?

A: The Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R is manufactured in Taiwan. Canon does include a case, front, and rear caps.

Q: 8. Will the Viltrox EF-L adapter allow full Canon EF lens to Leica CL body communication as well as IS, auto focus and auto aperture setting?

A: It depends if the specific lens that you are using was setup in the firmware that the adapter has. If it was autofocus, body communication, IS, and auto aperture will work. I don't see a compatibility list online though so only way to know is to try it out. Also bare in mind that autofocus tends to slow down with the adapter, specially in video mode it tends to be only manual focus.

Q: 9. Does the Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DI VC PZD (model A010) work with the mirrorless camera R6 mark ii using this adapter?

A: Yes, the following lens and adapter combo will work on a Canon R6.

Q: 10. Can I use this mount adapter with an EF teleconverter and EF lens?

A: As long as the Canon EF Extender you use is compatible for use with the Canon EF lens you own, yes, you may use your Canon EF mount lens and Canon EF extenders like the Extender EF 1.4x III on the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R.

[0.6 lb] Update to my review where I was less than thrilled with the tilt lock mechanism. After contacting Fotodiox about the problem I was informed that the tiny screw next to the locking knob can be adjusted to increase the holding power of the tilt lock. This made a huge difference. I now give this product and Fotodiox support five stars.
