Connect additional Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A, and eSATA peripherals to your compatible Windows or Mac system using the RocketStor 6661A-2U2e Thunderbolt 3 USB 3.1 eSATA Adapterfrom HighPoint. This adapter is equipped with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, which provide bi-directional speeds of 40 Gb/s. While one port is used to interface with your host system, the other can be used to daisy-chain up to six devices together, including dual 4K displays or a single 5K display, thanks to support for DisplayPort 1.2. Thunderbolt 3 also supports 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C and provides 15W of power to compatible devices for charging.

In addition to the Thunderbolt 3 ports, the RocketStor 6661A-2U2e has two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports and two eSATA ports, each of which supports one device. Each of these ports is also driven by a dedicated controller, meaning that each USB port has 5 Gb/s of dedicated bandwidth and each eSATA port has 6 Gb/s of dedicated bandwidth, instead of the bandwidth being shared between the respective USB and eSATA ports.

HighPoint's RocketStor 6661A-2U2e Thunderbolt 3 to USB 3.1 Gen 1 & eSATA Adapter is compatible with Thunderbolt 2 devices, as well as USB 2.0. Please be aware that any daisy-chain connections will terminate if a peripheral or device is connected via USB Type-C. Included is a Thunderbolt 3 cable, a 60W / 100-240 VAC external power supply, and a power cord. Protection is provided by a limited 1-year parts & labor warranty.

The RocketStor 6661A-2U2e allows customers to transform a single Thunderbolt 3 port into an all-purpose external connectivity solution. Each RocketStor 6661A-2U2e features two 6 Gb/s eSATA ports and two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) ports. Each port operates independently and all can be used simultaneously. The USB ports support most industry-standard USB 3.0/2.0 devices or peripherals including USB drive docks and enclosures, flash drives, printers, scanners, and input devices. The dual 6 Gb/s eSATA ports are suited for external drive enclosures and can support SATA hard drives or SSDs.

Like other HighPoint Thunderbolt 3 I/O solutions, the RocketStor 6661A-2U2e was designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind. Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports and dual 6 Gb/s eSATA ports can be added to most Thunderbolt 3 Windows and Mac systems using a single cable connection. This slim enclosure includes a pre-installed USB 3.1 Gen 1/eSATA controller and driver support is available for both Windows and Mac platforms.

[4.795 lb] It stays on the floor, with a 6TB and an 8TB HD in it.

I have a small, quiet fan hitting it.

That dropped the operating temperature of these two drives from 121 F. to 84 F.

I vacuum it or blow it out periodically. Simple!

[4.795 lb] Really happy with my purchase, rocksolid performance and affordable price.

I did have some difficulty putting in a Blackmagic Mini Monitor 4k card though, as the card is designed to sit in a tower so I needed to modify the card slightly to fit. Now that it's in I'm getting amazing HDR 4K playback and couldn't be happier.

[4.795 lb] I was very impressed. Hooked it up and my G-tech raid drives (from an earlier MacPro system) show up immediately. No reformatting, or trouble shooting.
I had bought a different brand’s PCI housing hoping it would work and Rocketstor even assisted me to trouble shoot since it was their PCI card. My last resort before dumping 20 terabytes in the trash was this unit. I now have those drives thunderbolt daisy chained to new drives that I was forced to buy when my “cheesgrader” macpro blew a mother board. All working fast and great. Avid Editor since ‘94. Very happy with this device.

[4.795 lb] Needed Thunderbolt for new iMac. and this holds 2 hard drives, up from just one with my Voyager Q which had a melt down and blew the Firewire on my old iMac. Or it could be the other way around.

[4.795 lb] Was a bit skeptical w/ HP brand when I bought it. But surprisingly, the HP TB dock has been working for over 15 months in a customized travel case that I can take anywhere (hotel, coffee shops, production van, etc). So far it can handle the rough abuse on the road and air travel, extreme operating temperatures from 20 deg  to 95 deg F. Thats the way its on location.  I can use any 3.5 SATA hdds (3-14 Tb). Performance is about 10 Gb/s (1,250 MB/s. Plenty of bandwidth for a typical Seagate Barracuda Pro single SATA drive that caps off at around 250 MB/s with no RAID.  Fairly decent read and write speed. I do not like to buy expensive G-Raid hdds. Theyre nice but just cost too much when youre shooting massive amount of data. And last time I checked in the airport, had to pay for overweight fees because G-Raid drives were so heavy. I average about 8-12 Tb per day of raw footage data. If data i/o is beyond 20 Tb per day, this may be a big bottle neck unless you RAID the 2 drives via software. Bare Seagate Barracuda Pro 14 Tb hdds make more economical sense for massive data in the long run. Plus if you have lots of older 3-6 Tb bare hdds, they can be put to good use w/ this dock.  Dont mind about no power on switch or inability to daily chain to another TB2 port. Mac Mini 2018 has 4 USB-C ports. So not a big concern.  Thunderbolt seems to be much faster than USB3 when high amount of data is transferred at a time. Once the Mac Mini or MBPro is on, I know working because of the bright blue LEDs. Fits nicely in a Pelican case for easy transport. Can be hard configured for Mac Mini 2014, 2018 or any Mac Book Pro 2014 or later models. Havent have any drive disconnection issues since day 1 of using this. Very stable and reliable. Good price, performance and usefulness. Dont see why it will not be useful in any high data raw camera workflow. Will get 1-2 more of these later on for disk replication and data migration.

[4.795 lb] This is the best PCIe 16x housing you can find. I use it for Highpoint's SSD71xx RAID cards and am getting very fast read/write speeds. As I can control the fans with their software, the unit is extremely quiet.

[4.795 lb] After replacing my Mac G5 with the new Mac Pro I had a couple of internal SATA drives that were full of archived work and active files. The RocketStor RS5212 was the perfect solution. I removed my drives from the old G5 and simply dropped them in the two slots on top of the RocketStor and I was once again up and running. The thunderbolt connection provides very fast transfer rates. One SATA is my Time Machine backup and accomplishes the task perfectly. I recommend this product to anyone who needs fast access and backup to data.

[4.795 lb] I am a photographer and videographer and I work with a lot of hard drives that mount in the dock as needed. It works great. The Thunderbolt connection is super fast. The speed limit is on the disks, it is important to buy faster disks to take advantage of this gear. Other docks I've had suffered random disconnections and that is very dangerous to the integrity of the stored information. With this dock I haven't these problems (rarely). The truth is that I see no negatives.

[4.795 lb] Great mechanical design makes it easy to setup, and the vertical form factor takes up less space than the other single card chassis.
