I travel a good amount so lugging this beast around was the only reason I didn't want to get it but now that I have it, I'll always make room in my bag for it. [0.255 lb] The lens hood for the Sigma 105mm f1.4 ART is a must. A frontal element so big needs protection from not only unwanted light that may cause flares and contrast decrease, but also protection from anything touching it when the cap is off. This lens hood helps for both. Its not cheap, but quality is impeccable.

Weighs a metric ton.
Large enough to choke whale.
One arm will become stronger than the other over time.
More glass than the Louvre's Pyramid.

If you are a bokeh junkie, then this lens is your pusher-man.

Last thought:
If you're looking at this lens, you know you want it, and why, and it's worth every penny...and yes, yes it is big and heavy, just like that girl in band camp you had a crush on, but you wont care one dam bit about it once you see what it can do. The bokeh is epic, and the compression with this focal length is awesome. I would buy it again without hesitation.

[0.255 lb] The last thing you want to lose and have to buy. Sucker is expensive & there really aren't any alternates out there. Sure it's made well and covers an oddball lens diameter size but man, ouch. Sigma is really sticking it to you at this price. It should cost 50 bucks. This amazing lens is still somehow worth replacing it's hood.

[Carbon Fiber] The quality of this lens is out of this world. The crisp and clarity of the picture it produces is magazine worthy.

[0.255 lb] It's a large heavy lens but the image quality stands for itself. It's wildly sharp and the DOF is what I expected and wanted. If you know what you are getting, you will love this lens. If you pick this up on a whim, you might not be happy as it's not super versatile because of its size and weight.

[Carbon Fiber] Great lense, well built, sharp out out of the box!!! Superb ratio of quality and price. I don't find this lens heavy - works for me, it's not lightweight piece of glass of course, but for me it's perfect balance. autofocus works great on Canon R5 and Canon 5D Mark IV. Lense have enough speed to track eye even on fast moving dogs.
