[23 x 15 x 3.78"] I used this to mount a UI Active fiber media converter outside my house to run fiber to my garage. I had ethernet already outside so it was easy to connect the ethernet with POE and run a fiber line. Seems to seal well against water. It looks good and was easy to install.

[CE, FCC, IC] Got AT&T fiber over a year ago and bought an Edgerouter Lite. While it performed decent it was slow at times and not quite able to keep up with a household of 3 power users. After replacing it with the ER-4 we have noticed significant improvements not only in our network but also with being able to manage the router.

[CE, FCC, IC] I had the ER lite and the ER-4 upgrade was a no brainer. The settings save and performance is definitely faster in the GUI and changing firewall rules. No complaints here!

[CE, FCC, IC] I needed this for an outdoor install of a uFiber Nano device. I already had a CAT5e cable running outside and didn't feel like having my ISP crawling in my attic to run a new fiber drop. Price was right, and it fits the UF-Nano perfectly. Seems to have a good seal all around that should keep it nice and dry. It also came with a handy mounting template with built-in level which was nice. Overall, very happy with the product.

[CE, FCC, IC] I bought this router to improve network performance on a fiber connection. Some of my remote co-workers observed that performance between our locations was not good, despite me being on a gigabit fiber connection and having good local speeds. After much research, it was determined that the router was the issue.

I read great things about the ER-4, and made the purchase. I am extremely happy. Setup will take a little while. I was able to get configs manually copied from the old router to the new one in a couple hours. It did involve some command line work (the web UI includes a CLI view) in order to set certain parameters. As newer firmware versions roll out, this may not be required in the future.

Once the box is setup, it just works. Performance is now blazing fast, no matter where the connection is coming from. The UI is also a treat. I would highly recommend this router to anyone technically proficient who needs better routing performance without getting into the $1,000 price point.

[CE, FCC, IC] it is located between cable modem and rest of network, openvpn form ios and andorid seems to work on my 1st attempt. however, one need to read a lot of forum post to not make pilot mistakes, GUI interface does not expose all the features, CLI interface need to be used for openvpn setup.

[CE, FCC, IC] I wanted this unit for the quad core CPU at 1GHz. I would say this is a good refresh or upgrade from the Edgerouter X and Lite. The CPU doesn't spike under normal home use. I do not use any of the advanced features like DPI that could load this down.Right now I use SQM to help with bufferbloat and get my desired speeds from my cable provider (350Mb down and 20Mb up) . The only other reason for this kind of router is VLAN support for LAN segmentation at home, which I plan to use for my IP cameras and NVR, and IoT devices.
