Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it Okay to use Fluorescent Bulb instead of Tungsten?

A: Hello- I use both bulb types. When I am not using them for photography, I also use these lights as ambient studio lighting with lower wattage CFLs

Q: 2. can they hold an umbrella?

A: Each socket has an umbrella slot built into it.

Q: 3. Specifications for these lights such as Flash duration, flash triggering method, how fast it can trigger and recover. I don't have the specks for this?? Help, it is for school! Thank you! Michelle Martin

A: This particular light source would be continuous tungsten light set up, so there would be no specifications for it regarding flash duration, recycle time or triggering method. The light source would simply turn on and off with an inline switch on the power cord. Those types of specifications are specific to strobe lighting. Please see the link for reference to a strobe kit: a href= http://bhpho.to/1HDmFVH target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1HDmFVH/aThis strobe system would have a recycle time of 3 seconds at full power, a flash duration of 1/1000 at full power and 1/1500 at minimum power. It can be triggered via the include sync cord connected to a camera with a sync terminal or you may use an option wireless trigger like the following: a href= http://bhpho.to/1riehZv target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1riehZv/a

Q: 4. What is the CRI for the included bulbs?

A: ECA light bulbs are not really measured in CRI. That is mainly for LED and fluorescent lamps. The color temperature of the Sylvania / Osram ECA (250W/120V) Lamp is 3200K.

Q: 5. I will probably look stupid for asking this. But I have read it and am not sure if these have a modeling light in it? Or is it just a flash?

A: These are simple slave flash bulbs. They do not have a modeling light or control for the intensity. You will have to use your F/stops to adjust the exposure or move the light.

Q: 6. Can these lights be adjusted do the bulb faces downward?

A: The angle of the lights can be adjusted from the stand mount. As for adjusting the intensity of the light, a dimmer such as the Impact D1000 1,000W AC Dimmer Control (110-120V) B&H # IMD1000, but at the risk of warming the color temperature of the light even further. https://bhpho.to/2citGTd

Q: 7. What's the difference between this and the AE80? Also, what do I need to make this work with the canon 60d?

A: The difference is the Impact SF-AE80 AC Flash (110-130VAC) is a stronger flash with more output power, which has a Guide Number of 80, compared to the Impact SF-AE56 AC Flash (110-130VAC), which has a Guide Number of 56. Other than the output power, the units and included items are otherwise identical. An 11-foot sync cable is included with the kit. As the Canon EOS 60D DSLR camera does not have a PC sync terminal, you would have to purchase a hot shoe to PC adapter, such as the Nisha Speed Light Foot Adapter, B&H # NISLFA. http://bhpho.to/1RJIdYn

Q: 8. Hi this can of lights are good for photo or video or both?

A: As the Impact Tungsten Two-Floodlight Kit with 6' Stands & Umbrella Kit is a continuous light kit, it may be used equally for both photographic and video recording needs.

Q: 9. Excuse my ignorance, but are these static lights, or a flash? Im looking for more lighting to use with my photo booth. Im already using a ELINCHROM D-LITE 400W/S RX 4. Still not getting enough light for the photo preview which is done in video mode when the flash is not firing. Will these work for me?

A: The LED lamps in this kit are continuous and are equal to 250 watts of tungsten light, whereas the modeling lamp in your Elinchrom monolights are only 100 watts each.

Q: 10. what is the voltage required for this item? Can I have one for a 220-240V

A: Unfortunately, this slave kit does not come in a 220-240V version. To get a strobe set up for 220-240V, a monolight system would be best. One in particular to consider is the Impact Two Monolight Kit (220V) B&H # IMEX100A2LKX. [Yes] I was pleasantly surprised with this product as the image doesn't do it justice. It looked (to me) lightweight and cheap. Instead it has real heft to it and is well made; tough for work where it needs to be.
