With a quick setup, umbrella-type design, moderate power, and soft output, the ALZO 200 CFL Umbrella Softbox Light Kit Standis a versatile light source in the studio or on location. The kit contains a model 200 LED fixture which takes full advantage of the output from the two included 5500K daylight-balanced LED bulbs by holding them horizontally to expose more surface area rather than pointing them out vertically towards the front of the fixture. Although the bulbs together draw only minimal power, they produce the equivalent of a 600W tungsten flood. The light output has a CRI rating of 91, an indicator of accuracy in the rendering of color. The kit also includes a 27 x 27" softbox with a clever umbrella-like design and a removable front diffuser. An 8' light stand is also included to support the light.

A: Unfortunately, these bulbs are non-dimmable.

A: Not really.... it will work with an LED bulb or florescent bulb that does not get too hot.

Q: 5. Can I use this for both Speedlights or studio strobes like an Alienbee?

A: Yes, that is designed to work for strobes and speedlights.It has not been tested with everyone but should work with most.You will need an umbrella bracket to use this with a speedlight.Some of them are listed below.

Q: 6. What is the max height that this can adjust to? Can the light be dimmed?

A: The maximum height is 24 inches And that is the top of the light. And the light does not dim.

Q: 7. Can you just buy the drum diffuser and and put other lights in it?

A: Although the fixture included with this diffuser is a standard Edison type, it has not been tested with all Edison type bulbs. Your results may vary.

Q: 8. I have a promaster 6" reflector that came with light tent. Is this the correct bulb for that?

A: Currently we do not stock any Promatser products. So we can not try it out. However it really appears the bulbs will work just fine in your fixture.

Q: 9. Could this be used for color correcting and viewing photographs?

A: It is 5500k and CRI 91. It would be a reasonable CFL to use.

Q: 10. Can you use dimmers to lower or raise the intensity of that bulb?

A: Like most fluorescent lamps the, ALZO CFL Photo Light Bulb (85W, 120V) does not work with dimmers.

[CRI 91] Lights came very quickly, packed very well and in working condition. When I researched what kind of light I need Ive read different opinions regarding these lights. I decided to try and didnt get disappointed. I am making photos in small studio for my wifes eBay business and for this purpose these lights are more than enough. They are bright and can be tilted to the angle I need. Another plus is that they are light and can be moved with no efforts. As LED lights, they dont give much heat as it was mentioned in earlier reviews. 5

[120 VAC, 60 Hz] Its simple bright and cool. It generates very little heat. I use it in a soft box.Just screwed it in to a regular receptacle and it put out enough light for my video. 5

[CRI 91] I actually use umbrellas the least out of all my modifiers but these are AWESOME. You can get this with a silver or white interior. If you are someone used to using those entry level umbrella modifiers then you will be in for a pleasant surprise. The build quality compared to a typical umbrella is night and day. I also really like the way the umbrella releases. It is a simple and sturdy feeling button that is easy to release and does not hurt at all to squeeze like those cheaper made umbrella modifiers. These umbrellas are also really large. I would easily recommend this for a large and compact light modifier. I just realized that they also offer a diffusion cover and will be ordering one. If you use one of these with a diffusion cover then id probably suggest the silver one for the best of both worlds or use the white plus diffusion for the softest light. If you use the white with the diffuser you can also open the silver one with no strobe and simply use it as a reflector for a soft fill. Either combination would be great. 5

[170 W ] This thing is big, really BIG. I'm using two of them in a DIY adapter for a 28x39 softbox and they are plenty bright. Very even lighting (no need for the inner diffuser) They are mounted almost parallel to the front of the box on the long axis. They get warm but I have been leaving the access zipper open, and facing up, and haven't had an overheating problem. Good CRI and reasonable priced. Only have 30 hours on them so far. 5

[170 W ] Just reordered eight of these. Purchased last set in 2010, as studio lights for product photography and video production. Long lasting. Quality light. Accurate color temp. If you use constant light source for photo or video these are the best bulbs out there. Durability depends on handling over time. Keep the boxes they come in. Repack and store in said boxes with included bubble wrap for years of use. 5
