The extreme SPL DPA 4099 Rock Touring Kit with 4 Mics (Extreme SPL)from DPA 4099 Rock Touring Kit with 4 Mics (Extreme SPL)is a supercardioid microphone with a 5.5" gooseneck that is designed to capture audio in a variety of applications: from piano to guitar, strings to woodwinds, or brass to percussion instruments. You can move the mic to another instrument by using the designated clip (sold separately) to mount it correctly. The Core amplifier technology offers an increased performance and natural sound across the entire dynamic range. Furthermore, the supercardioid polar pattern allows the microphone to reject unwanted noise and accurately capture the true voice of your acoustic instrument. The Core 4099 requires a cable and adapter (sold separately).

[0.09 lb] Such a good blimp for boom work, the dead cat handles heavy wind like a pro. I could wish the XLR clamp wasnt so close at the base which sometimes gets tight against the boom pole mount, but its not a big deal- no real design flaws in this whole piece. 5

[Supercardioid] Many people go with Rode products since they seem to be more well known, but after watching a presentation of Rycote from a past NAB, I saw how dedicated they were to the wind/ outdoor sound area, literally custom fabricating shields for outdoor golf broadcasts, rain, etc, I was impressed. I purchased this for an outdoor shoot and on the day there were about 20mph winds. I monitored the audio the whole time and this thing SAVED my life. Id highly recommend this product, the quality is impeccable and the results SAVED my shoot. Clients couldn’t believe the sound quality I was able to achieve. 5

[Mono] I'm so glad I got this effective and beautiful piece of gear. The best sound I have ever experienced over headphones... ever. No noise while turning any of the pots whatsoever. I've had it for a little over a month now so it's fully 'burned in'. The crossfeed matrix is effective but not overly aggressive. Love being able to trim the center image down. If you want the best, here it is. Word of Warning: If you are a 'Gamer', listen to dudstep, watch my little pony, or use dr. beats headphones, this is not for you. It will scare, confuse, and intimidate you. 5
