[6x AAA] This is just a perfect product. It is reasonably priced, compact, and does the job.

[0.85 lb] I tried many products before landing on this one, couldn't find it anywhere else and I got the best results digitizing my negatives on a DSLR.

[5600K] I bought this to copy old film negatives and positives using a DSLR on an arm and looking straight down onto the film area. The results are faster and better than using an expensive scanner.

[5600K] I use mine to view neg in the sleeve. So much faster and easy than pulling sheets and putting on a light table. Once I have found the neg I want to work with I will then pull it and go from there. Tried to use it on battery power but the batterys don't last long so you have to use the AC adapter. Finding the AC adapter was a bit of a chore but spoke to B&H and they pointed me in the right direction.

[LED] This was a great purchase for me. I replaced another small lightbox with this Logan Electric model and am very glad I did. Four 35mm slides fit on the lit surface with ease. Bright ? Take it outside at night, turn it on and it could be seen from outer space. Regarding the lit surface, it has a granular feel to it which does not hinder editing slides. It would be very difficult to scratch this surface. Since receiving the lightbox I have edited in the vicinity of five thousand slides and there are no apparent marks on the surface. Photographing/digitizing a slide sitting on this surface would require a diffuser of some sort. For me personally this was a great purchase.

[6x AAA] I wanted to copy slides, but wanted the copies in camera raw format. I used this light pad as the light source and used my Canon 60D and 100mm macro lens. It works perfectly. I forgot to order the power supply, but found one in my shop. I would recommend this to a friend.

[5600K] I am using the Logan Electric A7A with a copy stand, a 36 megapixel digital camera, and a macro lens to scan old 2-1/4 x 2-1/4 inch slides. A mask cut from black construction paper serves to block the portion of the 4 x 5 inch light table that lies outside the slide.

The results are surprisingly good; and true scanners for 2-1/4 x 2-1/4 inch slides are both difficult to find and prohibitively expensive.

It would be easy to scan 4 x 5 inch transparencies in the same way.

[6x AAA] I was looking to buy a light box for digital scanning of vintage negs and transparencies. I had my heart set on one of those fancy Kaiser Plano Slimlites, when the Covid threat seemed like every source of lightbox would disappear. I thought digitizing all my old film images would be a cool way to spend my quarantine time. I have a DSLR with macro lens, set on aperture priority, and was ready to go. So I snatched this one up in a heartbeat. Turns out it does the job perfectly, and being only 4x5 I'm able to use negative carriers from an enlarger, and don't have to mask out any stray light on the sides ( which would have to be done if using a larger lightbox). I have a lot of 4x5 negatives and chromes in my archive. One of the beautiful things about this light box, is I can just lay the 4x5 film right on the light surface without need of any carrier or film holder. It takes up most of the light box surface, so masking for stray light is not really needed. And 4x5 film originals are so flat and rigid, no holding device is required. If my collection of film originals was only 4x5, I could almost shoot 100 sheets of film in 100 seconds!
