The Matthews Low-Profile Mitchell Tie-Down | Secure Cargo Fastis about a third of the size of standard Mitchell mount tie-downs, and features an ergonomic design that makes it easier to screw in. It's compatible with all Mitchell mount fluid heads.

A: The Matthews Low-Profile Mitchell Tie-Down is compatible with the Sachtler 18 fluid head.

Q: 6. What is the max spread between the mounting screws?

A: Unfortunately, Smallrig does not provide this info. The SmallRig Low-Profile NATO Rail is 90mm long and the screws look like they can be positioned over most of the mount length. We did check and it should be about 57.5mm of space where you can position the screws.

Q: 7. Is this Metric or Imperial? Wondering if this is compatible with Metric screws or not. Cartoni only use Metric but their tie down knob is too wide for my tripod legs to close completely.

A: The Sachtler Tie-Down for flowtech 100 Tripod (B&H# SAS20521100) is for use with certain (but now discontinued) bowls, so it is not possible for us to test this. However, according to the best information we could find, the thread is said to be an M10 one. A: They are 5/16-18 SS soc flat head bolts

Q: 9. Can you remove the center bolt and make this a female tie-down? My head already has a bolt.

A: Yes, you can remove the bolt in the middle of the Matthews Low-Profile Mitchell Tie-Down. You will still need to use the nut to fasten the bolt securely.

Q: 10. Does it come with screw?

A: No, the Sachtler Tie-Down Knob for Ace & 75mm Heads does not come with screws.

[3.5" / 8.9 cm] I bought this because the tie down for my Cartoni Focus HD head was too wide to use with the Manfrotto 645 Fast legs. The knobs on the Cartoni tie-down are 71mm across at their widest point, which prevents these tripod legs from closing all the way. The widest point on this tie-down is 45mm, and it works perfectly with the Manfrotto legs and holds the 100mm ball head tightly with no play, even though it is listed as a 75mm tie down. The female thread receiver is 10mm, and it's deep so even if you have a really long screw on the bottom of your head, it should still accept it. 5

[4.85 x 4 x 2.1"] Love this compared to the normal nato rails. I use it on my cage and monitor, along with a dual nato rail monitor mount. That way I can quickly set-up/teardown without a single tool. 5

[0.645 lb] Does the job fine. Nicely engineered. The brass button on the side facilitates a quick, smooth slide-in for a NATO clamp, but trickier to slide off that way. Top button easier to release for removal. 5

[3.5" / 8.9 cm] I got this a shorter replacement for my existing FSB 6 tripod head. The screw threads are the same but the collar was too wide to screw all the way in and was obstructed by the legs. I swapped the collar off my old tie down and it fit, however the way the tie down is shaped prevents the legs from closing all the way. It’s probably an inch and a half from being closed all the way. Not the biggest issue, it still fits in the bag fine. Just something to be aware of if you do this yourself. Overall, it’s a very good quality tie down, it would be nice if they made something similar to this low profile design for 75mm heads. 5

[4.85 x 4 x 2.1"] If you bought the smallrig cage for the Canon 90D, the NATO rail that's offered as an added option is really not the best one for top handle use. To center the top handle and maybe even add another bit of gear to the rail, this model definitely offers the most flexibility of use. 5
