Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you flip one of the screws so that one screws "up" and the other screws "down" or are they both locked in that position?

A: Yes, the threaded bushings on the bottom of the Gator Frameworks Mic Mount Bar can be removed with a flathead screwdriver so you can position the screws as needed.

Q: 2. How many windscreens are included in one package?

A: The Earthworks OMW3 Windscreen for Earthworks Omnidirectional Microphones contains one Earthworks OMW3 Windscreen.

Q: 3. Would this work with Rode VideoMic NTG Hybrid Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone, or will it want to jump to the sky?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 4. does this work with the AT 2035

A: This studio arm would work with the Audio-Technica AT2035 cardioid condenser microphone. Simply attach the AT8458 shock mount that comes with the microphone to the 5/8-inch threaded end of the arm.

Q: 5. I am reaching out regarding this boom arm. Does this product fit the SM6 shock mount?

A: Yes. This will fit any standard mic clip or shock mount.

Q: 6. why does the arm want to spring to the ceiling, is my mic not heavy enough?

A: That generatlly happens if the mic is not heavy enough.

Q: 7. Does anyone use a pop filter with this arm? If so how do you attach?

A: You can clamp it onto the boom arm. So the pop screen will move with the mic. This is a good one made by K&M. B&H # KM23956B you can find it on our website.

Q: 8. I'm looking at the Cloudlifter CL-1, CL-2 (2-channel), the CL-4 (4-channel 1-up rackmount) and this CL-Z. I understand the value of a switchable high-pass filter (removing low-end rumble, etc.), but I don't understand the value of variable impedance, especially since the CL-Z appears to add a potentiometer to the signal path. Does the "knob" allow you to "tune" the mic to what sounds best to you? What are the physics behind the "Z"? Thanks for your help!

A: Each mic will have it's own resistance rating that will sound best. By being able to adjust it you can fine tune the Cloud Lifter to sound as best as it can with each mic, instead of a one size fits all option. You can also use it creatively to create sounds the mic normally would not be able to do.

Q: 9. can you plug in wired buds?

A: Yes. The Tula Mic has a standard 3.5mm TRS headphone jack that can be used with most types of wired headphones and earbuds.

Q: 10. Will the device it pass supplied 48 V phantom power through to a microphone on the input?

A: The Cloudlifter Z Instrument/Mic Activator is not compatible with condenser microphones. The Cloudlifter itself does not pass phantom power, rather, it is powered by phantom power, and uses that to boost the output level of the connected mic or instrument. For condenser microphones that require phantom power, this is the most similar in-line preamp to use: https://bhpho.to/3jLSjQX
