Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the plate that this tripod uses, because putting the Manfrotto plate is not possible? The clamp on the tripod head is not wide enough for the Manfrotto plates to slide in.

A: The plate style of the CAME-TV 701B is a custom design. The best way to convert the plate style to Manfrotto would be to add this QR adapter. The adapter mounts to the CAME-TV plate and converts it to a Manfrotto 501PL style. https://bhpho.to/3lMNG6A

Q: 2. Leveling is done from the legs only ? Is there a leveling lock-ring just below the head, I can't tell from the photos or description. Can the head be replaced, does it come off ? Thanks !

A: The CAME-TV 801C Carbon Fiber Video Tripod with Fluid Head does not have a manor for users to level the head independently of the legs, so to achieve a level placement users will have to adjust the leg heights as necessary. The fluid head can be removed from the tripod legs.

Q: 3. Is this stabilizer Arca-Swiss compatible?

A: The camera plate is propitiatory, it is not Arca-Swiss Compatible.

Q: 4. Does this package contains Mid-Level Spreader, if not what Mid-Level Spreader is recommended?

A: This Tripod comes with a Floor Spreader. At this time we are not aware of any Mid-Level Spreaders that are compatible with this unit. If you need help finding a tripod that will work with a Mid-Level Spreader instead feel free to email us at provideo@bhphoto.com for additional assistance.

Q: 5. Is it possible to order an additional pan arm for this tripod head?

A: That is considered a replacement part by the manufacturer. Please contact them directly. CAME-TV Website http://www.came-tv.com/ Email americas@came-tv.com

Q: 6. Can the floor spreader be removed? Does it have spikes for outdoors if removed?

A: Yes, the floor spreader can be removed and the tripod does have spiked feet.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with the Manfrotto 500PLONG plate?

A: Not that we are aware of. This stabilizer has a propitiatory base plate.

Q: 8. I bought this thing. There is no instructions included. The height doesn't adjust. It is not user friendly! Are there instructions online???

A: For help locating an instruction manual feel free to email us directly at askbh@bhphoto.com.

Q: 9. How to put lock the filter?

A: standard 4 x 5.65" or 4 x 4" filters lock directly in the matte-box without the use of filter trays

Q: 10. What is the difference between the CAME-TV H4 and this P06?

A: They both will handle the same load equally well. The difference comes down to price and and the fact the expensive one is in stock and the cheaper one may take 8 months to arrive.

[Carbon Fiber] Very nicely made tripod.
Surprisingly sturdy.

[11.41 lb] Have used this tripod a couple of times since I received it. Legs are very smooth rising and lowering with a weight of a camera on it. 100mm bowl with illuminated light makes it super easy to level the camera. 6 levels of pan and tilt friction gives you great creative control of how you can smoothly move the camera to capture your vision. Top plate sliding also lets you balance your front to back weight. Everything works perfectly to make it a very solid tripod purchase. I highly recommend this tripod to anyone looking to hold something more than just a DSLR.

[Carbon Fiber] I put this tripod to the test. It's currently sitting on top of a 4-floor office building, holding a time-lapse camera. While being held in place by sandbags, it has been through some high winds and foul weather and it's holding strong. It is also a very smooth head. Pans and tilts like a dream. It's also very light. I carried it up a ladder to get on the roof and it wasn't too much of a challenge. Highly recommend this camera.

[Flip Lock] This an amazing tripod for the price, the tripod head feels sturdy and holds a fully kitted ARRI Amira without a problem. It's very similar to the Sachtler Video 18. The legs aren't the most intuitive (no mid level spreader available) and they won't lock without the ground spreader. But might as well grab some Flowtech legs and then you're all set!

[Carbon Fiber] To me it looks and feels just like a Sachtler 18 S2 ENG 2 CF Video 18 S2 Fluid Head with ENG 2 CF Tripod and Ground Spreader except for the handle looks a little different and the Cam-TV logo, which I covered with my contact info (white text on black label stickers, which looks clean). Clients probably think it's a Sachtler. But more importantly it is buttery smooth, fully adjustable, and sturdy. There's only a few potential cons in my view. There's only the floor spreader available, but you can take it off if you're ever on rough terrain. In that case I might use something like the Oben Tripod Hammock to add stability in that rare situation. For me 95% of the time I'm on a fairly smooth flat surface. Another unknown is how it would be to have this brand serviced, but in my case I take good care of equipment and it's not getting used like a rental house. I'm ok with those downsides for the benefit of saving 5K or more.

[11.41 lb] I was looking for heavy duty tripod for my Alexa, it weighs about 35-40lbs with all the accessories on it. This was the only option other than spending over 10k on oConnor Tripod. I was my suspicions because of cheap price but it turned out great. Amazing head that holds my camera without any trouble, great leg with easy pull setup. I recommend it.

[3] Of all the tripods I've used, this one is a beast at a great price. I purchased a used model only it's aluminum. Although the carbon fiber model is slightly lighter, I don't notice that much of a difference. This baby holds a lot of weight. In addition, the tripod head is nice and smooth, but better than previous models I owned. I highly recommend this unit for any serious videographer.

[11.41 lb] I'm a cinematographer and regularly use glidecam hd-2000 with dslr's such as 5D's and 1Dx mark II, I also often use a Glidecam Hd-4000 with a C300 mark II, and even own a giant came-tv vest and stabilizer rig with wires for batteries and monitors going through it. I hate that big thing because there's no real freedom of motion for rising shots etc and it takes forever but i'm sure for walking shots on a movie set or something it's just right. Anyway I'm a strong believer in no vest because you get so much more shots you can capture. This stabilizer is amazing in every way. It is super portable which is important so you have it. Faster to setup. Stable when set down (much more than glidecam since those can tip to the side easier than this one). This looks better, and is carbon so more efficient with weight just for balancing, smaller shaft and bearing means less friction introduced through the bearing. It's extremely smooth. Has smooth position knobs without the extra unnecessary locking screws on the glidecam. This has exactly what you need with nothing extra. it's simple to start on and excellent enough for a pro. It can handle my 5D mark III with a 16-35mm 2.8 L which is a heavy setup. It even just scraped by at the edge of balancing same camera with a 50mm 1.2L. I plan on getting some extra weights to make sure I'm set with various cameras such as if I have to put a lav receiver on the hotshoe for single mic work solo shoot with mic running into the camera. I wish they made an identical but just slightly bigger version to compete with glidecam hd2000 size but most small stabilizers handle fine if you add more weight to them. Don't hesitate to buy this. I would recommend this as the most important item to shoot with over a slider, over a tripod (shots need motion people!)
