Q: 1. does it 2" core or 3" core?

Q: 2. What mil thickness is this paper?

Q: 3. A question regarding the excellent review (Kevin) of Hahnemuhle WT 310 Matte: The review mentions a clay stabilizer being compromised due to the texture of the paper. Does that clay originate in the printer head and become dislodged and then create the clog? If so, which printer is referred to?

A: The clay isn't in the printer head; it's in the paper. ALL inkjet-specific papers have a clay stabilizer as it is vitally important to how the paper works: The clay stabilizer provides a consistently receptive surface to receive the ink droplets so that tones and colours are consistent across the paper. The stabilizer also has the function of dramatically reducing the amount of ink required to create a saturated image. To those who don't understand this concept, two points:1. Print on regular art papers, like watercolour. It will work, but the print quality will be very poor, colour and density will be awful, even with double the amount of ink compared to inkjet-specific papers.2. Use a knife to scrape the printable surface of any inkjet-specific paper. It will produce a fine white powder, or chips that can be broken up to form a powder (depending on how much binder is in use). This is why most papers, including this one, are single-sided -- because the stabilizer is only applied to one side of the paper. Others like Moab Entrada have the stabilizer applied to both surfaces. All such papers have a lignin-free substrate to make them archival, but you are not printing on the substrate; your ink never reaches it. Again, this is trivial to demonstrate by making a print, then gently scraping the stabilizer away to reveal the paper substrate beneath.-- Kevin

[Single] When I first learned Hahnemuhle was coming out with yet another version of Baryta, I admit I was skeptical. How could it be any different or better than the Photo Rag Baryta or Pearl for fine art prints needing the color pop and rich blacks they provide? I was also concerned about. the slightly warmer white base and heavier glossy texture. But since I've become a big fan of the OBA-free sustainable Natural Line bamboo matte paper, I decided to give this a try. And WOW! There is simply nothing I've seen like it, and I've tested dozens of papers. Yes, the colors definitely pop and blacks are deep as they should be. But surprisingly the warm whites are barely noticeable (I shoot primarily color landscapes and nature subjects using an Epson P900). The baryta glossy texture is definitely the heaviest I've seen. But for me, the random application of the coating makes it a gorgeous game changer in such a way that the deep texture seems to add depth to the image. Which makes the reflectivity less of a distraction. Obviously this is all subjective, but it's definitely won me over as a totally unique next level baryta paper to add to my choices. And clients seem to love it.

[98.5%] Warmtone FB has been my primary paper for years. I use the glossy surface for proofs and semi-matte, which I varnish, for prints. The varnish is not glossy but restores the range and separation, leaving a soft luster surface.
The full range of contrast allows tuning prints from a variety of negatives to the ideal presentation to evoke the mood I wish to convey. I use selenium toner, usually at 1:19, to tone from 2-7 minutes.
The consistency and reliability of the paper, batch to batch, makes this paper stand out from others available in yet another way.

[Yes] The Hahnemühle profile P-800 I downloaded seemed very good. I’ll make my own profile and see if it makes any notable difference—I doubt that there will be one. The texture of the gloss surface could be characterized as “robust”—more textured than Photo Rag Baryta, for example, and presenting a good option among high quality papers. I’ll also note that it fed perfectly in the Epson printer.
