Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this work with my Canon AE1 FD 50mm 1:1.8 lens?

A: Yes, this will attach to the filter threading of the Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 lens.

Q: 2. What's the difference between this and the Superfish lens?

A: The Superfish offer a much wider field of view. It provides the maximum view, without typically black fisheye corners.

Q: 3. What is the minimum usable focal length for film camera?

A: On a 35mm film camera lens, you can use any focal length longer than 17mm.

Q: 4. Is Sensei 72 Wide angle rubber lens hood able to work with Sony FE16-35 mm ZA without vignetting?

A: It works fine with my 18 - 200 mm Canon Zoom lens. No vignetting.

Q: 5. Hi, will it work with a Tamron 17-28mm with no vignetting? Thanks!

A: 17mm in a full frame camera is right in the border of where vignetting can occur. It is likely you will see some shading of the corners, but should not be major problem.

Q: 6. Will it work without vignetting on 10mm lens?

A: You will probably get some vignetting at 10mm.

Q: 7. Does this 72 mm rubber lens hood screw onto the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II lens?

A: As the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens has 72mm filter threads, yes, the Sensei Wide-Angle Rubber Lens Hood (72mm) may be used with the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens. However, do note that this is a third-party lens hood designed for wide angle lenses, and the lens hood may not provide adequate light-blocking capabilities at all focal lengths found in the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens. If performance at all focal lengths are needed, then the Tamron Lens Hood for 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens, B&H # TALH1840035, would be the correct lens hood for your usage needs.

Q: 8. Hi, could I use it with a Leica 12-60mm of my GH5? Do you think it is sufficient for my wide angle lens? Thanks

A: I use mine with Canon equipment and it is super when taking pictures against windows, I would not know if it fit Leica equipment

Q: 9. I have yet to find out whether this will work for on Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus or not....yes or no???

A: Yes. Provided you are using a Moment Photo or Battery Photo case.

Q: 10. will this hood produce vignetting when combined with the Schneider Super angulon MC 90mm f8 lens for 4x5 cameras?

A: This will not cause vignetting with that lens.

[0.01 lb] This rubber lens hood serves it's purpose to reject light, but more than that I find it useful as a protector for my lens should I bump into anything and because I tend to be aggressive with my gear so it's nice to know that I can put the lens face down with the lens hood to the surface area (see picture attached) and it will stay upright and not fall while also protecting the lens and camera body as well.

Another amazing feature is the cost. At just $10 it's worth the investment especially if you do lots of time-lapse video in airports where the lens hood can block the reflection of the glass when the rubber lens hood is pressed up to the glass.

[0.01 lb] I use this on my Canon RF 24-240mm, with a B+W UV filter in-between this hood and the front glass. It fit well, and has a good feel to it. Will help absorb some impact of lens vs. other objects as well.

[0.01 lb] Just purchased this lens hood for my Canon RF 35mm lens, and very happy with it’s quality for the price. Made specifically for wide-angle lenses, and the literature that came with the hood stated for lenses up to 28mm. No vignetting issues. Allows for filters to be added, and the lens cap still fits with the hood in place.

[0.01 lb] This is for an used 20 f2.8 lens for my soon to arrive full-frame camera. Because the lens is no longer in production so acquiring the OEM hood became next to be impossible. Then I found this on B & H website as usual they have everything that others don't. The thread on this hood was extremely well machined and the rubber material is quite firm (not collapsible) double as bumper to protect the lens. Although I'm not 100% sure of the compatibility but judging by the look of it which is very similar to the OEM version I think that it should be pretty close if not perfect.

[0.01 lb] Using it for a 14mm Fuji lens. I thought it might crunch down into a flat hood, like a B+W model, however as is - is very nice for its intended purpose. If my original Fuji hood breaks, or becomes frustrating to mount [as it has been], I'll use this.

[0.01 lb] This hood works well on a lens that rotates when extending. The butterfly type just doesnt locate well on those lenses.

[0.01 lb] With its slim design, this hood fits my needs perfectly. It doesn't make the lens look that much bigger, and it provides great shade from sun flares.

[0.01 lb] I'm happy with this rubber lens hood. What I really appreciate is how easy it is to use. The anodized aluminum ring threads smoothly onto your lens, and the design is super sturdy. Plus, the ring has interior threads, so you can still screw on a filter or clip a lens cap inside the hood. It’s these little details that make a big difference. I love the flexibility this provides.
Being made of rubber is a plus for me. When you’re done shooting, it is easy to pack it away in your camera bag without any fuss. Having the pliability of a rubber material is great. That is very convenient and saves a ton of space.

Besides blocking stray light and reducing flares/glares on the lens, it also is good for protection of your lens and camera. This is an under rated element to having a lens hood. It adds a layer of protection from drops and bumps while either in your camera bag or when it is in use. It's nice having that extra layer of protection and peace of mind.
I also appreciate the matte black finish. it really minimizes reflections and keeps your photos/videos looking top-notch. To summarize, I'm very happy with this rubber lens hood. It's well made, well designed, easy to use and very functional. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]
