The IsoStation M5 provides high-isolation solutions in fixed beamwidth increments through interchangeable horn antennas that have been optimized for an urban environment. The tailored antenna radiation patterns spatially filter both in-band and out-of-band spurious RF emissions to increase the noise immunity of the IsoStation M5. This feature is especially important in an increasingly congested RF environment.

The interchangeable antenna improves beam‑shaping for specific deployment needs. By default, the IsoStation M5 includes the symmetrical horn antenna with 45° beamwidth.

Horn antennas increase co-location performance without sacrificing gain. Symmetrical horn antennas (30° and 45° versions) offer improved scalability options for wireless systems. Unique beam performance and great co-location characteristics allow for a higher density of sectors than traditional sector technology.

Asymmetrical horn antennas (60° and 90° versions) are designed to have attenuated side lobes and extremely low back radiation. They offer enhanced front-to-back ratio with low side-lobe radiation. Asymmetrical horn antennas are ideal for cluster sector installations with high co-location requirements.

A robust dish antenna, model U‑OMT‑Dish, offers excellent beam directivity with 27 dBi of gain. It can be paired with the IsoStation M5 to extend radio performance for a greater number of WISP customers. Providing high throughput and an innovative form factor, the IsoStation M5 is versatile and cost-effective to deploy.

airOS is an intuitive, versatile, highly developed Ubiquiti firmware technology that requires no training to operate. Behind the user interface is a powerful firmware architecture, which enables high -performance, outdoor

multi‑point networking.

• Protocol Support

• Ubiquiti Channelization

• Spectral Width Adjustment

• ACK Auto-Timing

• AAP Technology

• Multi-Language Support

Integrated on all Ubiquiti M products, airView provides advanced spectrum analyzer functionality: waterfall, waveform, and real-time spectral views allow operators to identify noise signatures and plan their networks to minimize noise interference.

• Waterfall: Aggregate energy over time for each frequency

• Waveform: Aggregate energy collected

• Real-Time: Energy is shown in real time as a function of frequency

• Recording: Automate airView to record and report results

The IsoStation M5 can be accessed by the UNMS (Ubiquiti Network Management System) app once it has been set up on the same Wi-Fi network as your mobile device.

(Original setup is done through your browser.)

The UNMS app provides instant access to the airOS configuration interface and can be downloaded from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). UNMS allows you to configure and manage the IsoStation M5 and offers various configuration options once you're connected or logged in.

Unlike standard Wi-Fi protocol, Ubiquiti's Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) airMAX protocol allows each client to send and receive data using pre-designated time slots scheduled by an intelligent AP controller. This time slot method eliminates hidden node collisions and maximizes airtime efficiency. It provides significant performance improvements in latency, throughput, and

scalability compared to other outdoor systems in its class.

• Intelligent QoS with voice/video priority for seamless streaming

• High capacity and scalability

• Long-distance, carrier-class links

Using airMAX technology, the IsoStationM5 supports up to 100+ Mb/s real TCP/IP throughput. It also offers the following features:

• Interchangeable horn antennas for enhanced beam shaping

• Horn feed comes directly from the radio input/output so connectors are eliminated

• Single button release for ease of changing antennas

• All metal shielded radio base

• Metal strap for quick and simple mounting

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Point to Multi-Point, how wide is the "beam" at ~1,000'? How far apart can I place receivers to send and receive data back to the "base station". Will Nanostations on the remote locations work at this distance in this configuration?

A: Litebeam is a 1:1 bridge. You would need to use a LTU or AirMAX multipoint to have multiple receivers.

Q: 2. What is the maximum distance this will work at?

A: The NanoStation AC is rated for relatively short distances of 0-5 Km.

Q: 3. Is this US version or International version?

A: All of the Ubiquiti products (including Unifi and Amplifi lines) sold at B&H are U.S. versions.

Q: 4. Can this device strengthen your smartphone and laptop wifi signal from a long distance?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks airMAX NanoStation M5 BH #UBNSM5US is a network bridge. It would not be used as a signal booster.

Q: 5. Do you have the international version?

A: Only the US version of the Ubiquiti Networks LiteBeam AC Gen2 airMAX ac CPE with Dedicated Management Radio.

Q: 6. Do these come with mates or do I have to buy each individually?

A: The NBE-5AC-GEN2 NanoBeam are sold individually but are used in pairs to form a point-to-point outdoor wireless connection.

Q: 7. Does this item have the passthrough PoE? I have ordered several Gen2's, and they only have 1 Ethernet port. Apparently, units manufactured after November 2017 have the passthrough PoE. Please verify that your units have the passthrough PoE. I need several. Thanks.

A: The Ubiquiti Networks NBE-5AC-GEN2 NanoBeam ac Gen2 airMAX ac CPE with Dedicated Management Radio (BH #UBNBE5ACG2US) does support PoE power pass through.

Q: 8. None of the photos show a connection to AC power. Is there a standard three-prong recepticle plug on each end? (transmitter/receiver).

A: This type of antenna is best powered via PoE.

Q: 9. Can two of these be used for a simple PtP bridge?

A: As others have said, Yes you can use it as a PTP bridge.

Q: 10. Is Poe Supply included?

A: No it is not. The package only includes the radio and a zip tie.

[64 MB DDR2] Short and sweet:

pros:

-Management radio (really easy to set up)
-2 ports (It will pass passive poe or 802.3af. AWESOME!)
-Airmax 8 is solid

Cons:
- No mount? Really? How are you supposed to aim them at all with just a zip tie? The nanostation mount doesnt fit these.

I don't believe these can act as an AP to say something like your phone. I'll update this if I try but pretty sure Airmax stuff only works together and cant be turned off on this model.

Other comments: Ubiquiti's own Nanoswitch needs 802.3at so I could get another couple ports and not start mixing in odd equipment. But thats just something I wish I could use with this.

[Pole-mount] These were the first Airmax products I was setting up and after having them running for over a week, I have to say, they work GREAT! The setup was a bit tedious to understand but their are great tutorial setups and documentation online for Airmax by Ubiquiti you should follow. I have these setup between 2 buildings that are about 350ft apart. Getting wire was very costly and disruptive to the area that it made sense to set these up. I was hesitant at first but was amazed. The station side (remote) Nanostation setup consists of a 8-Port Ubiquiti PoE Switch 8-60W and a U6-LR connected to the switch via a PoE Injector. The connection is stable and works really well. Very cheap way to get the connection setup without having to stress about running cable/conduit.

[MIPS 74 Kc] I have been testing several ways to improve my network speeds to a building about 300 feet away (Tried network router bridges, extenders and wireless AP uplink from Ubiquiti) The Wireless Uplink method from Ubiquiti was not bad but soon as I installed Nanostations up high, I began receiving full speeds close to the AP I connected to the Nano Station and about 80% of the speeds in nearby areas further which is MAJOR improvement from previous ways of bridging the network. Easy to setup, recommend getting the PoE surge protectors as well for these in areas that experience thunderstorms. Overall, I think I solved the problem for stable and reliable speeds without the option of getting a wired connecting to the building. Highly recommend, just ensure during installation that you test to ensure the locations are optimal for the link before permanently installing it.

[6.5 W] Needed to set up a point to point radio link as Cat 5 distance was too long. Never implemented a point to point radio link before. Very much enjoyed the learning process, watched videos on YouTube. Set up was easy, one big advantage of the Nanostation AC is PoE passthrough to the secondary port, however wasted a few hours wondering why the remote camera was not working - Ubiquiti provide a 24V PoE power supply with the unit, the camera requires 48V PoE. The Nanostation AC works with either 24v or 48V PoE. I purchased a 48V PoE installed it and thereafter everything worked well. Very pleased with the product.

[1 x Power] I've actually installed quite a few of these, and they work great. This time I was helping a customer link a shop building on his property to his house. They've made the setup reasonably easy through their app. For reasonable distances (I've done quarter mile or so) with clear line of sight, these do awesome.
