The Lindsey Optics 138mm Circular Polarizer Anti-Reflection Coatingfrom Lindsey Optics 138mm Circular Polarizer Anti-Reflection Coatingis an unthreaded drop-in filter designed for use with professional cine matte boxes. It can be inserted directly into cine matte boxes that support 138mm round filters, or it can be used with compatible square filter holders.

The filter is highly efficient at reducing reflections on glass and water. It can also saturate blue skies and increase color saturation in landscapes by reducing micro-reflections in the scene. With this polarizer, you have more choice about how much reflection to remove, in order to tell your story better. The filter features a strong 7-layer anti-reflection coating which eliminates filter to filter reflections and reduces stray light, improving contrast and color saturation.

[0.87 lb] I pair this with my FS7 as even with full internal ND it’s still not enough to allow me to shoot wide open in outdoor situations where I live. I use mine in a Bright Tangerine Misfit Mattebox. No Color shift at all and very well built. I feel it saves me money and time over having several solid NDs. 5

[Glass] I tested the focal length and it is right on. It's not clear to me whey movie makers need these big weak lenses. I needed them for a different type of project and this is the only source I've found for this type of lens. 5

[Glass] Definitely one of the best 4x5.65 polarizers on the market. Smooth gears and minimal rattling compared to some of the competing polarizers in this higher price range. Hardly any color shift when rotating the filter, again especially compared to others in this price range. Filters aren't supposed to take a beating, but the one drop this ones had it handled it well with no serious damage. 5

[Multi Coated] I pretty much keep this inside my Matte box at all times when shooting exteriors. You're able to dial in the pola effect to your liking. 5

[0.87 lb] I needed a new 4x4 circular polariser and have always gone with the old standards of Tiffen or Schnieder. On the CML list I got involved in a discussion about anti-reflection coatings. Motion picture filters don't have that for very good historical reasons as the filter wizard, Ira Tiffen explained. Dwight Lindsey was also in the discussion and explained that Lindsey filters do have a coating because the historical reason for no coating is no longer applicable. So I bought one and am very pleased. The lack of a coating on most motion picture filters is why we need flags on our matte boxes. I do still use a french flag in heavily back-lit setups but not nearly as much as i used to when I use this filter. I can have direct sunlight on my Lindsey polariser and see no noticeable flare. This is an excellent filter and it's not much more expensive than the uncoated Schneider offering. 5
