[1/4"-20 Male] I'm not a professional and didn't want to spend a lot of money as a casual landscape photographer but needed a more balanced alternative for my new Sigma 150-600mm lens. The reviews that I read were spot on. The Magnus GH-M1 Gimbal seems very well built and sturdy. For my purposes, it works great. It easily screws onto my Manfrotto tripod and is very easy to adjust. Highly recommend.

[Tilt Head] I haven't found any negatives so far. It works smoothly and has made taking photos of birds so much easier, with no more neck strain. Birding has not been my niche but that could change now. It is a game-changer for me.

[1] The Mangus GH-M1Gimbal Head proved to be a justifiable and worthy purchase. I paired it with my Leica 400mm f/6.8 Telyt-R and a Leica SL (Typ601) camera. I had basically neglected this telephoto lens until I decided to order this GH-M1 Gimbal Head while it was on sale. Although the head comes with a nice Arca-type quick-release plate, I had already attached a Sunwayfoto DP-60R quick-release plate to the lens mount as it was threaded for both 3/8-16 and 1/4-20 mounting screws. Using both screws on the QR plate prevents the lens from rotating, and the GH-M1's clamp worked perfectly with it. I simply removed the ball head from my Bogen Manfrotto 3221 tripod, replaced it with the Magnus Gimbal Head and found it suited the purpose remarkably well. I neither found any issues controlling the fluid rotation of the axis of the lens in any direction nor with the adjustability of the friction screws. I even added my Leica 2X APO Extender-R to the lens and was surprisingly able to stay focused on-target. The Mangus GH-M1 Gimbal Head appears to be a functional and well-constructed product at a very reasonable price point.

[1/4"-20 Male] Although the quality is below average, there's nothing to complain about at the price. It's a budget option for occasional bird watching.
