Q: 2. Can I pull GPS location via bluetooth from my iphone?

A: Yes, the GPS location can be pulled via Bluetooth on your iPhone from images shot on the Lumix GX9.

Q: 3. Does the lens come with a cover?

A: The Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens included with the GX9 does include a lens cap.

Q: 4. Does the GX9 have the same shutter as the GX8?

A: No. Redesigned to prevent shutter shock. More like the GX85 shutter.

Q: 5. Is the menu hard to understand and apply? Auto face detection. How does that work?

A: Panasonic Lumix GX9 Mirrorless Camera is easy to use. It does have face detection. Please look here in the manual page 97-98 of the pdf as it explains how face detection works and hot to set it up in the camera. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/386639.pdf

Q: 6. Compare with g95 ? I am seeing similar specs, just form factor difference ?

A: The Panasonic G95 would have a weather sealed design, unlimited video recording with the addition of a headphone and mic port, as well as better battery life over the GX9. A: There is not a battery grip made specifically for this camera at this time.

Q: 10. Does the tilting EVF have any detentes or click stops to hold it in the down position?

A: I'm sorry, no, but its stiff, yet smooth enough to hold its position.

[0.1 lb] I love my new Panasonic GX9 and the 12-60mm Lumix kit lens. I was using a full Frame Nikon for years with great results, but I got tired of lugging all that weight around. I wanted a small but good quality camera system to replace the Nikon, and I found the right camera for me.

I have been using the GX9 for only 2 weeks now, and I love almost everything about the camera. I love the small size and weight; the high-quality look and feel; the well laid out controls; the easy to learn menu system; the very high percentage of keepers; the great dual image stabilization, and the surprisingly good quality of larger prints taken with the kit lens. It is so easy to take good looking photos with this camera that I can concentrate on the artistic side of my hobby. I was planning to buy the 12-60mm Leica lens and give the kit lens to my son, but I may keep the kit lens. The photos are only a little less detailed than with the Nikon system. I just ordered the Lumix 100-300mm f4-5.6 and can't wait to receive it.

Things I don't love (but don't hate): the EVF is small and the built-in flash is not great. As with other M 4/3 cameras, it does not perform well at high ISO. I hate noise, and would not use the camera above ISO 400. But overall, a great system. I have my hobby back.

[Plastic] I own the Fujifilm X-T3, and was looking for a backup camera, smaller and easier to take along while on a hike or cycling. This Lumix DC-GX9 is a nicely laid out camera, with a menu system that is logical, and performs to my liking. I've had no issue with the camera. Just one man's opinion.

[Plastic] My last camera was for my college photo class...a 1986 Pentax K1000, film! After that, all I used was basic point n' shoot or phone cameras. This is a big learning curve for me, but so far, it's pretty intuitive! I need to do a little more studying and playing for sure. It's lightweight, the screen is a great size! I really think this was the perfect choice for a novice like me! Plus, I love that it looks a bit like my vintage Pentax :-)

[Plastic] I use this along with my fuji x100v on the street. I have this camera often with the small Olympus 45mm f1.8 when i need distance on the street. I really love the adjustable viewfinder works great and I also love the outside ring of the exposure compensation dial and the lever on the back of the camera to switch between afs and manual. It fits very nicely in the had and the images are very good

[Plastic] Moved up from DMC-GX1 for continued small form factor and the integrated LVF. (Used the auxiliary on GX1.) The HDR works spectacularly well for food shots in dim restaurants. Every shooter differs, but the 12-60 is a good choice for everyday work, while adding my 50-200 to the bag gives me plenty of telephoto length without carting a lot of gear. Wish the battery life was better, so I bought a 3rd party charger and 3 extra batteries to get through a full day of active shooting. Using it is like a flashback to Leica rangefinder days, but with digital bells and whistles.

[Plastic] I bought this to supplement/replace my gm1 body. I like the GM1 for being so small but it can be a bit fiddly to shoot in manual since there is only one control dial and the colors are often not as vibrant as I would like. This camera is bulkier but has wonderful color saturation, is much easier to dial in exactly as I would like and is notably faster in shooting speed. I was also able to link it to my phone which is something that never seemed to work quite right on the GM1 and I really like on the gx9. It would be nice if this camera came with a few additional accessories, a fast charger for the battery and perhaps a memory card in particular, but the quality for the price is excellent. Over all I am quite satisfied with my purchase and looking forward to getting lots of use out of this body.
