Equipped with four 3.5" Serial ATA ports, each of which can accommodate an HDD up to 12TB, this NVR supports up to 48TB of storage (HDDs available separately). External storage options include PCs via internet connection, network servers, and USB storage devices. It supports H.265, H.264, and MJPEG compressions which help optimize network bandwidth use while ensuring high-quality recording and playback.

The NVR enables simultaneous recording and playback of up to 16 channels locally and 32 channels remotely. It can support up to one local, two remote, and one mobile clients simultaneously. A maximum combined throughput of 300 Mb/s is supported and this NVR features a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, a WAN port, a LAN port with RJ45 connector, two digital inputs, two digital outputs, and an HDMI port. An audio input and output allow for two-way audio and this NVR supports video export in raw or AVI format.

[1 RU] I had an older/cheaper Hikvision 1TB NVR that didn't have the latest software or capabilities. This unit is much easier to use, especially when you're looking for a specific event. Initial setup was a breeze. I took the older 1TB hard drive and installed into this unit. Instantly recognized it. What I don't like about it - and I've seen/read this from other users...the cooling fan is LOUD. Luckily my unit is in a utility room (washer/dryer) and the noise doesn't bother us. I did have a minor setup issue recognizing my newer Hikvision cameras - B&H technical got Hikvision USA on the phone with me. I didn't have the latest firmware loaded. New firmware fixed the issue. I also have the newest Hikvision WiFi doorbell connected to it. I highly recommend this unit if you're wanting to have the latest tech, reasonable costs, and a more capable NVR. 5

[12 MP] I have had 3 different NVRs. The other ones were from Geovision. Their first NVR worked well for about 6 years. The second one was thrown in the trash. The ENR-020P was relatively easy to configure, including the interface to other vendor's cameras. I had to play around with the encoding settings a little but this thing works. I like the UI. Keep in mind that I can't comment on reliability as I have only had it for a month or so - but I now have all my cameras displaying - which sometimes is a major problem if you have cameras from multiple vendors. 5

[12 MP] Got this unit after returning the NXI Acusense model, which was a disappointment. br Configuration was a breeze, but it must be done locally. That is, hook up the monitor and USB mouse directly. After that you can disconnect the monitor and the mouse and manage the unit headless by iVMS-4200 software installed on a PC or Mac on the local network. Or remotely, but to do that, the configuration is a bit more complex. I use it with a mix of genuine US Hikvision cameras and cheap ONVIF-compatible cameras. I do not use the cloud, because I configured remote access. br Going from QNAP NAS to the Hikvision NVR was like a night and day experience. This is a rock solid NVR. Feature-rich, configurable, full time recording without skipping a beat, remote access and playback though the Hik Connect mobile app are just a few things to mention. The Hik Connect mobile app is also very good and easy to use, unlike most other Chinese-made apps that are buggy, filled with spelling errors in the UI. And YES, unlike the NXI Acusense model, the firmware in this model is regularly updated and email notifications work properly. br The unit is well built but it is loud. Unless you are are hearing impaired you will not be able to keep it in a living room, bedroom, or media room. It works for me because I keep it in a utility room. br All in all, I highly recommend this model for home or business use. 5

[ACTi or ONVIF] Best NVR I've ever used, hands down... 32 IP cameras plus channels for audio, access control, alarm devices, and Point of Sale... runs firmware 5 too! NO BUILT-IN POE - all of my cameras are connected to POE switches directly and if you don't need it, save money and power with this model. I used Samsung EVO 870 SSD SATA 3 drives and this thing is so smooth! Yeah I know SSD won't last as long as purple disks but they will last a good few years and I'm OK with that. Firmware 5 offers SO much, big upgrade from v4. There is a learning curve but the analytics are so very worth it. Supports many different brands, protocols, and functions... I really can't list everything but I can say its awesome that my non-Hikvision cameras were automatically discovered alongside the real Hikvision ones. Still not sure? Neither was I because my older unit running version 4 was basically getting the job done but I wanted more channels and WOW I got a lot of bang for my buck with this upgrade! 5

[1 x HDMI] I bought this model to upgrade from my DS-7608NI-E2/8P. This one has more storage compacity and uses the latest software/firmware. I had no problem setting this one up. The wizard work well for me. The menus were in a different format older NVR but I was able to figure them out with no problem. 5
