A: No, we do not recommend placing the APC Battery Back-UPS Pro BX1000M on it's side while it is in use.

Q: 8. I just bought this and realized it came with a 30amp AC Plug. Can I safely adapt this to 15amp plug to use in a regular outlet? Will it just result in a slower battery charge?

A: Thank you for your interest in our products. If you do change the input power cord to 15 amp it will derate the UPS to a 1500VA UPS. It wouldn't slow charge but you would not be able to connect the same amount equipment to the UPS. We do recommend a licensed electrician change out the cord as well. [52.5 lb] This is my third APC Battery Back-UPS. Each is a different model. I have them protecting my computers and data backup system. Easy to set up and protect both the hardware and the data during power issues. 5

[0 to 95%] I have used APC UPS products for decades. My experience has mostly been good, but I found some of their lower end products to underperform the brand reputation. So, I looked higher up in the family for my low end needs and found the BX series. I’ve used the BX1000 in several places now and I like it for spots where I just want a small and reliable UPS for network equipment or TV equipment. I like the surge suppression feature for a network cable also. I’ve used these to power building-to-building network equipment and I feed the network through the UPS. I was pleased to see that PoE passes through it just fine. 5

[32.5 x 7 x 6"] I operated the prior version that I bought 5 years ago. It was time to change the battery. Since the battery costs about 1/2 of the price of a new Pro BX1000M, I decided to purchase the new Back-UPS rather than a replacement battery. This version is significantly smaller than the model 5 years ago without sacrificing anything. APC has been the brand I've been buying for over 25 years and have no plans to change.
