The BOSS WL-20L Wireless System for Guitars Line-Level Devicesis a wireless system for electric guitarists and other electronic musicians. It provides easy operation through its plug-and-play user experience. Simply plug the included WL-T transmitter into your guitar or line-level instrument (keytar, digital wind instrument, etc.), and plug the receiver into your amplifier, first pedal in the chain, or pedalboard input; or if you are using a line level device, plug into a mixer or PA. Now, you are free to roam up to 50' away from your amp without worrying about dragging gear, tripping up your bandmates, or accidentally unplugging yourself.

The receiver automatically finds and sets the optimal wireless connection with the transmitter, selecting among 14 channels to do so, and operating over the carrier frequency of 2.4 GHz. At 2.3 ms, latency shouldn't be an issue. A USB charging cable is included, with which you can charge both the receiver and transmitter. To do this, plug the transmitter into the receiver, connect the charger to the DC-in port, and both units will be charged in around 4 hours. From there, you'll get approximately 10 hours of continues playing time.

This model differs from the WL-20 by not offering cable-tone simulation. Without the high-freqeuncy roll-off that mimics the capacitive effect of 10' guitar cables, the system is well suited for instruments with active pickups and onboard preamps, or line-level devices.

Equipped with the Katana-Air's wireless technology, the WL-20L delivers quality sonics with a wide dynamic range. Channel selection is handled automatically to ensure rock-solid audio performance with no drop-outs. With a latency of just 2.3 ms, you'll always enjoy great playing feel with no lag. Up to 14 BOSS wireless systems can be used simultaneously in one space, allowing multiple musicians to enjoy wireless freedom at the same time.

A WL-20L system is as simple to use as a standard guitar cable. The small transmitter plugs into your instrument, while a matching receiver plugs into a pedal or an amp.

With the WL-20L, there's no fiddly channel setup required. Just dock the transmitter and receiver together for about 10 seconds to automatically set the optimum connection.

When docked, the built-in batteries in the transmitter and receiver can be charged together with a standard USB adaptor (5 V/500 mA or higher), the same type used with many smartphones and tablets. The transmitter and receiver can also be charged separately, and a micro-USB cable is included for charging.

Whereas the similar BOSS WL-20 system provides a cable tone simulation, the WL-20L does not. This makes it a better choice for instruments where cable capacitance has little or no effect on the tone, such as an acoustic-electric guitar with an onboard preamp, a guitar or bass with active pickups, or a line-level device. The WL-20L also works with passive pickups if you don't need the subtle treble roll-off provided by cable tone simulation.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there the same type cable as this but longer than 9"? I need it for a GH5 on a gimbal.

A: I would say 12 to 14 inches.

Q: 2. Does this cable work for Panasonic Lumix S1R and Zoom H6? Thank you!

A: Hi Edward. For the Zoom H6 recorder, we recommend the LN2MIC-ZOOMH6 or LN2MIC-ZMH6-MON assembly. Thank you!

Q: 3. How many channels of audio does the cable send?

A: This, Sescom LN2MIC-TASDR100 Line Out to Camera Mic Level In Cable, is intended to pass stereo (L/R) signals.

Q: 4. What's the difference between the B1 and the B5?

A: The two systems function in the same manner but they include different accessories. The LAVOKOL B1 Wireless Microphone System for USB Type-C Devices (2.4 GHz) includes a USB Type-C cable and a Type-C single-sided headphone. The LAVOKOL B5 Wireless Microphone System for Portable Devices (2.4 GHz, Single Transmitter) comes with a charging case, a USB Type-C cable, a USB Type-C to Lightning adapter for compatibility with iOS devices, a USB-C to USB-A adapter, and a Type-C headphone. Cosmetically, the outter molded design of the transmitter and receiver for the two systems also differs slightly but has no affect on the way the system performs.

Q: 5. Can I use this together with Boss Waza Air?

A: The Waza-Air includes the same WL-T wireless transmitter as the WL-20L wireless system. The transmitter will work with the built-in receiver on the Waza-Air headphones and the WL-20L system's receiver.

Q: 6. Does this cable work for zoom f6 too??

A: Hi Ching. This cable attenuates the signal 35dB, so it might attenuate the signal a bit more than desired. We have a couple of cables specifically for the Zoom H6, the LN2MIC-ZOOMH6 and LN2MIC-ZMH6-MON. These Zoom H6-specific cables attenuate 25dB rather than 35dB. The LN2MIC-TASDR100 cable will work, but you might have to raise the audio level up on your camera if the audio level is a bit low. Thank you!

Q: 7. Would this cable work to record line level from a mixer to an iPhone?

A: The Sescom LN2MIC-TASDR100 Line Out to Camera Mic Level In Cable will convert line level signal to mic level, but you would need to use additional adapters to connect from the mixer and to enable compatibility with the iPhone. As another option, Sescom does offer other types of line to mic attenuator cables that are intended for use with smartphones and have a 3.5mm TRRS connector on the end that connects to the smartphone which you would use with the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APLAADAP) to convert the TRRS plug to Lightning. Depending on the mixer and its available output connectors, you will have different options such as the Sescom Dual 1/4" Phone Plug to 3.5mm TRRS Plug Line to Microphone Summing Cable 3' (B&H # SEIPSUMTS3) or the Sescom Stereo RCA to 3.5mm TRRS Plug Line to Mic Level Summing Cable for Mobile Devices 36" (B&H # SEIPSUMRCA3) or the Sescom Dual Female XLR to 3.5mm TRRS Plug - Line to Mic Level Summing Cable for Mobile Devices 3' (B&H # SEIPSUMXLR3). These cables will send the left and right output from the mixer and will connect to the iPhone when used with the Apple Lightning adapter

Q: 8. Is this compatible with the g10r base unit?

A: Yes, the Line 6 G10TII Transmitter for Relay G10 Wireless Guitar System is compatible for use with the Line 6 G10R Receiver Base Unit.

Q: 9. Is this exclusively for Sony?

A: The Godox WEC-S 2-Person Wireless Microphone System for Cameras and Mobile Devices (2.4 GHz), BH # GOWECSKIT2, may be used with a wide variety of cameras or mobile devices via the included cables. It has the added benefit of being able to also work with Sony's proprietary MI shoe interface.

Q: 10. The go pro hero support USB C. Is your microphone powered by battery?

A: The wireless transmitter included with the LAVOKOL B1 Wireless Microphone System for USB Type-C Devices has a built-in rechargeable battery that lasts up to five hours and the wireless receiver has a USB Type-C port for charging pass through which allows it to draw power from the host device that it is connecting to.

[1 kOhm] 7/24/18 First--get your unit's firmware up-to-date (mine arrived from B&H with v2.40...but 2.60 has just been released). Go to Line 6 Helix forum and pay attention to the moderator's advice. Second--you should/must do a factory reset AFTER the firmware update to reveal MANY presets that otherwise would not appear in the HX Edit utility (Holding FS5+FS6 then power-up unit - Will reset Presets only).

[Power, receive] Rugged and small enough for toolbox. Pots are a little clumsy for fat fingers, but you'll get used to it. Bigger knobs would risk getting damaged in a mobile rig.

[-10 dBu] This is a well built unit, and extremely quiet. With the ground lifting capability, I can get rid of hum as well. I use it to feed powered stage monitors, and it does not seem to affect the volume level of the channel I am using. I am extremely happy with the splitter and the cost at B&H was far below other stores I looked at. On top of that, it included free shipping and was to my door in a few days.

[0.5 lb] Bought this to add a third Mike to my existing two Mike setup. The setup included 3 transmitters, two lavaliers and one hand held, but only 2 receivers. This, along with a simple 3 input mixer, allowed for simultaneous use of all three microphones.

[20 Hz to 20 kHz] Well made good added features. This was to replace my old Boss Tuner, which lasted on the road for over 10 years.

[6.1 x 3.85 x 2"] Works great. NO CABLES! How cool. Use it with my Roland Micro Cube, and other amps. No problems. So liberating! No lag issues at all.
