Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the response time?

A: Sorry, I did not check any response time. I purchased it as part of a project and hoped that it would function as described.

Q: 2. How long is the wire?

A: The cable length on the Monster Cable Pro MI 7-Outlet Surge Protector is 4'.

Q: 3. Does it have a power switch built in ?

A: Yes.. It also has 8 90 degree rotating receptacles & 4 stationary receptacles. Lights up to let you know it is grounded & protected. Built in strap to bundle cables. Surge protection is rated better than most. Well worth the cost & B&H is a great company to do business with. I bought my first SLR film camera with them about 43 yrs. ago & still buying from the best.. Buy the Belkin & make sure you buy from B & H. Steve L

Q: 4. What is the life span of the unit itself please

A: This unit is rated to 4320 joules of protection. 4320 joules is an amount of electricity and it is also how you state the lifespan of the surge protector. It should protect you up until that amount of surge, 4320 joules. If you take a 2000 joule hit then you have 2320 joules left of protection. The thing is you never know how hard you've been hit and how much protection you have left. You can take hits and not even know it. Therefore, if you know that your surge protector has taken a hit, replace it immediately. If you live in an area that has periodic power surges or is prone to lightning strikes, for safety sake you should probably think of replacing your surge protectors every once in a while. How often exactly is up to you really. Ask your homeowners insurance company what they think. They know more about this stuff than anyone. This surge protector you're asking about is a good one and at this price it's not a big deal to replace it. Think of the cost of the damage if it doesn't work.

Q: 5. Will this work on 220v?

A: The Watson 8-Outlet Surge Protector with USB (2450 Joules, Black) would only work with 125VAC at 60 Hz, so it won't be compatible with 220V power.

Q: 6. Does each outlet rotate 90 degrees?

A: The 4 Outlets in the cenet are fixed. The other 4 outlets on each side rotate 90 degrees max. The 8 outside outlets can be positioned from straght up to 90 degrees straight out and still provide prwer in any position.

Q: 7. How many joules of surge suppression is this product rated for?

A: The Tessan 4-Outlet Outdoor Waterproof Surge Protector with 2 USB Ports (6') does not have a surge protection spec in joules provided by the manufacturer; instead, it is rated for 1250W of load.

Q: 8. The black, 12', 7-outlet product description says it has a right-angle plug, but the picture shows it with a straight plug. Which one does it actually have?

A: Hi Lance,This unit is getting an upgrade to a right angle plug, however at this time the units we still have in inventory have a straight plug.

Q: 9. belkin advanced surge protector for the office. how do i hook up so my phone and fax will work?

A: This model has protection only for the AC line. There is no connection or protection for the telephone line.

Q: 10. how many amps are provided by the two USB ports?

A: The 2 USB ports provide a total of 2.1 amps.

[1800 Joules] I bought this as a 2-pack and it was a good value. I needed to replace a couple of power strips and this was cost-effective, as well as giving me the flexibility of moving the UBB adapters as needed.

[Yes] I bought this for my home office to neaten up the tangle of wires from my growing collection of networking gear. I built a wooden rack and put all the network-related stuff on it, plugged into the rear outlets. It's not the fanciest set-up in the world, but it does the job.

I also like the front outlets, which are handy for portable device chargers and other sundry uses that don't merit a permanent connection.

The selling point for this particular UPS in my case was the cover over the power switch, which prevents accidentally turning it off. I know, it's a little thing; but I think it's an important one.
