This 6-stop, 62mm NiSi Solid ND & Circular Polarizer Filter 62mm 6-Stopcombines a solid neutral density effect with a circular polarizer effect. When in use, this filter's 64x filter factor provides a 6-stop exposure reduction. Its 1.8 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

Simultaneously, this filter can help to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. The light from the sun naturally becomes partially polarized due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze. A polarizing filter arranges, and filters, this directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of this light. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage.

A circular polarizer only differs from a linear polarizer in that it contains a quarter wave plane in addition to the linear polarizing filter. The addition of this quarter wave plane is to circularly polarize the linearly polarized light for the use of auto focus and exposure functions. Due to how the light is broken down and filtered with a linear polarizer, auto focus and exposure accuracy become skewed during use. When the light becomes circularly polarized, it permits the use of these functions.

This filter is non-coated and is constructed from optical glass for clarity and features an aluminum alloy filter ring that can be rotated to adjust the intensity of the polarization effect.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this filter give me rich and colorful results when doing street photography, and if so, how many stops should I go for so that I dont have to change the filter too often even if it gets dark, 3, 4 stops?... or should I go for a polarizer one? Thanks

A: Yes, it will clean up your images by saturating colors and increasing contrast. I would just go with a polarizer that would cut out about 1-2 stops.

Q: 2. Hello! Does this filter have front threads (to attach a lens cap)? Thanks!

A: Yes. 77mm front filter threads allow for use with other filters or a lens cap.

Q: 3. Can you use a lens hood with this? I am new to photography and can't seem to find one that would fit in or over this

A: The front of the K&F Concept Nano-X Circular Polarizer plus Variable ND2-ND32 Filter (58mm) is 62mm so you can attach a 62mm hood such as this: https://bhpho.to/3gdgVNq

Q: 4. would this work with the tilta mini matte box if I added an extension ring in there?

A: Yes, It comes with an 82mm adapter ring.

Q: 5. Why the green coating on the filter?

A: It aids in the reduction of glare that the filter could encounter according to K&F.

Q: 6. will PolarPro 82mm ND1000 QuartzLine Circular Polarizer Filter (10-Stop) cause vignetting at 15mm of Canon RF 15-35 F/2.8 lens?

A: The PolarPro 82mm ND1000 QuartzLine Solid Neutral Density 3.0 and Circular Polarizer Filter (10-Stop) will not vignette at 15mm on the Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens (Canon RF).

Q: 7. Does this have threads on the front side too? I'd like to attach a lens hood

A: Yes, this does have front filter threading. You can attach a lens hood to this filter.

Q: 8. Seems thick. Will it vignette? Depending on lens I suppose. Also, will it interfere with lens hood?

A: If your lens is wider than 24mm (full frame), then yes it will probably vignette. It would most likely interfere with the hood.

Q: 9. I have a Canon 24-105mm f4L(77mm). I already have a 77mm protective filter on it; with threads, so I can stack another filter. What size ND filter should I order?

A: Protective filters have the same size front and rear threads so a 77mm variable ND would be recommended.

Q: 10. Curious if this ND/PL stacked with a Tiffen Black ProMist on a 24mm lens will cause vinette problems (@f/1.4 thru f/4)? I'm thinking it likely will and might then go for non PL version as it looks slightly thinner? Cheers if anyone's already test this out?

A: If you use this on a full-frame camera, you would be likely to have some vignetting. On a crop-sensor camera, it would be less likely.

[Glass] Among the most important aspects for which I decided on this filter is that it really has a perfect glass and works in very intense light conditions and also in low light conditions I recommend it

[62 mm] I've been using variable ND filters for a while and could never really get out of them what they promised. Even the higher-end filters seemed to underperform. Not so this Polar Pro ND64. Now I'm going to have to get the ND32 and ND16. And yes, it's a bit of a pain to lug multiple filters around and put them on the camera in the middle of a run-and-gun sort of shoot, but it's comforting to know I'm getting what I need now.

[0.1 lb] A solid ND filter to cut down on harsh light and give you videos a more cinematic look. If I have a shoot mid day and that's the only time slot the customer is available I keep one of these handy because they cut down on the harsh light or light leaks and soften the skin tones for photo shoots.
The filter comes with a nice carrying case that has soft foam inside with precise cutout for the glass so it doesn't move around and get all scratched up. The filter size is 82, I use it on my Sony FE 24mm-70mm f2.8 G master lens. It screw on in the front of the lens easy and it comes off easy as well.

[4.5 x 4.5 x 1"] I have been searching for a system to help with my landscape and long exposure photography. This filter helps bridge the larger filter systems in a nicely wrapped little bundle. I have tried many 100mm filter systems, my last being the Nisi V5 pro. And that system is great, but the setup time takes forever, and I was left with light leak issues, as with all my other 100mm setups. This filter from PolarPro is great at polarizing the water to where I want it, and helps add that extra pop in color. This filter is a true 6-stop filter. Some filter companies will say it is a 3,6,10 ect, and it ends up being a 4,7.5, and 12 (hypothetical figures, as I have noticed with some companies they are not a true rating) This is the filter for me, and I may want to try out the 10 stop as well, for the extreme long exposure shots I like to get. The polarizing ring is smooth, and you can still see through the viewfinder and adjust according to your needs. I was a little worried about that, but you can do it! This might be the most over-packaged filter I have ever received! Magnetic box, with the filter nestled inside yet another magnetic latching, and aluminum filter case! Sure will keep it safe! Also has a couple of micro fiber cloths too, cause you can never have enough of those! Overall, great filter and I will be purchasing more from PolarPro in the future!

[0.1 lb] This nd filter works great!
I don't see much impact on color and sharpness.
Also, the polarizer filter is very useful when I take photo of the sea.
Consider its price (compare with similar product, PolarPro or Freewell), I think it is a very good choice.

[0.1 lb] I have used combination ND-CPL filters from both PolarPo and Breakthrough (their Dark CPL series). I prefer PolarPo because they have fit with all of my Sony FE lens hoods and caps whereas the Breakthrough filters are larger in some dimensions and some lens hoods do not twist on and some caps pop-off. Whenever I use ND I always prefer the polarizing effect and so these are some of my most used filters, especially for shooting running water from waterfalls.

[0.1 lb] I suspected that a 4-stop ND would be about right for bright light sources and this seems to be the sweet spot (still shots). I feel this filter reduces the lens sharpness just a tad (Canon 85mm f/1.4L IS USM-EOS R) but actually looks great in most shots. If PolarPro did not waste so much money in packaging more people could afford this...I think the packaging is serious overkill.

[Aluminum] I compared this against the equivalent B+W MRC filter. Both were excellent, no loss in sharpness.
What I liked best about the Polar pro filter is that you have an option to use polarization when needed, and unlike traditional circular polarisers there's no extra light loss with polarization, meaning with or without polarization it's a 6 stop ND.
Another important factor for me to choose this over the B+W filters is that the B+W filter has a slight blue color cast and there's vignetting at 17mm, however the polar pro filter is perfectly neutral and no vignetting at 17mm.
