Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be used while the battery is in use?

A: You can use the battery while charging it. In some cases its possible to drain the battery while its plugged in, this is not a AC adapter for the flash.

Q: 2. The product photo shows it splitting into two pieces, but I'm trying with the one I have, and I can't seem to separate them. Do you have any tips for me? Also, if I can separate them, can I use the bowens mount adaptor that comes with the AD400pro to attach and lock this reflector?

A: The original does not split into two. The following system has a pinch and release system that is very hard at first needs to be broken in to loosen the reflector.

Q: 3. Between this reflector and the RFT-19, which one is better? Which one gives more light?

A: Godox RFT-19 Reflector (7") has a slot to hold a 7" grid and the Godox Long Focus Reflector for AD400Pro Flash Head BH #GOADR12 has a wider spread and wider opening.

Q: 4. Does this case come with inserts?

A: The CB-11 case comes with custom foam for the AD400 Pro.

Q: 5. Why is the Maximum Quantity 1?

A: Strobes can only accept one light shaping tool at a time.

Q: 6. What is the diameter?

A: The diameter is approximately 8.5 inches

Q: 7. What is the light throw angle?

A: Unfortunately, Godox does not publish the beam angle of that this reflector offers.

Q: 8. will this fit ad300?

A: Yes, the Godox Standard Reflector for the AD400 Pro can also fit the AD300 Pro.

Q: 9. Can you confirm that this will fit straight onto the Godox AD300 Pro?

A: Yes, it will.

Q: 10. What are the interior dimensions? Pictures of the case open?

[110°] Even brand-new batteries are coming in completely discharged.

My problem started when I left 2 AD400 Flash Heads sitting unused for 2 years. When I went to charge them, one of the batteries eventually responded (after half an hour on the charger). The other battery was shipped out to a maintenance shop to be reset ($40). The repair shop returned the battery with a 70% charge.

There were no new AD400 batteries available for purchase, anywhere. B&H would not accept an order for this battery. Only way to obtain a battery was to purchase another flash.

About a month later, B&H began accepting battery orders. This Godox Li-ion battery, purchased from B&H, arrived completely discharged, zero led lights on the charger. However, it charged normally (about an hour). Works great.

The lessons learned: these AD400Pro batteries self-discharge quickly.
Should be charged on some sort of schedule to 70% charge!!
Consider purchasing some spares.??

[110°] Never hurts to have a backup charger when you work on location and in studio. This one is for sitting pn the desk and not in the location bag. Worked as it should at a great price.

[110°] Everything you read about Godox batteries is true if you let them sit. But you can reset them when they appear dead and they come back good as new. The trick is to use them. Charge them to about 80% if you won't have a shoot for awhile and then pull them out, connect them, and test fire them a few dozen times once a month. Since I started doing this with my batteries I went from frustration and failure to no issues.
I get a lot more shots out of these batteries than they are rated for - so doubly happy. I have 3 of them now.

[110°] As usual, Godox products are amazing and B&H made it easy to get with a great deal! The AD400 Pro is compact, light, powerful, and easy to travel with. The kit including Impact stand and umbrella, is the perfect combo. I recommend it for both beginners and professionals.

[110°] I measured the amount of light from this reflector vs. the standard reflector on the AD 300 pro. The long focus reflector added about a stop of light, measured in the studio, at 8 feed from the flash.
