Capture clear, detailed images at depths as great as 200' with Ikelite Housing for Sony RX100 VI & VII Underwaterfor your Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Mark VI or Mark VII camera. Two fiber optic ports enable the connection of external Ikelite DS strobes (requires Fiber Optic Converter #4401.1 and Fiber Optic Cord #4501, sold separately). Large, ergonomic mechanical controls provide access to all camera functions except for the flash and viewfinder switches. The camera's fully extended zoom lens fits within the integrated 3.9" lens port.

Built for durability, the housing is designed, constructed, and tested in the USA. It's manufactured from a white ABS/polycarbonate blend, which is still corrosion resistant but also reflects sunlight to keep your camera cooler when shooting at or above the water's surface. The back plate is clear to allow you to monitor the O-ring seal and maintain a full view of the camera. The lens port accepts user-supplied external wide-angle and macro add-on lenses for an enhanced view. Optional color-correction filters can also be added to restore colors that get absorbed by the water.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the new RX100 VI?

A: I just received mine with a new RX100VI. It will work, but there are a few issues from what I can tell. First, the LCD doesn't line up quite right and you can't see the right few millimeters (not a big deal). Second, you have to make sure not to zoom past 70mm or the lens hits the housing and the camera then asks you to power down and then power back up to reset the zoom. So far this doesn't seem like a big issue, but I haven't used it underwater yet and I'm not sure how much of a nuisance this will be. (I have to amend my last post on this because I mentioned that the power button wasn't usable when the camera was in the housing. I was wrong, I just had it set up improperly.)

Q: 2. Can you do wide angle shots at 24mm without vignetting?

A: The Ikelite Underwater Housing for Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Mark VI is made for that camera. It has a 1" sensor with a 9 to 72mm lens and the housing is designed to accommodate that lens even a 9mm. (The Full Frame sensor Equivalent Focal Length: 24 to 200mm)

Q: 3. Has anyone tested this above water as a surf housing and able to give some feedback on its performance? It's obviously advertised as an underwater housing and geared toward divers however would love to know if above water the lens port beads with water droplets and fogs OR if it performs like a professional surf housing equipped for above water photo and video shooting?

A: I used it on surface before and after dives. It does get droplets on the port. I usually apply some antifog on the port which somewhat helps with droplets. I never used surf housing so cannot tell how would it compare. Fogging: none, under or above surface. To be 100% sure try to close the housing in a dry area like hotel room with a/c; or at least add anti fog insert - cheap gopro ones or even piece of bathroom tissue work fine. Yes, as it was said in another answer this housing is quite bulky - it is a generic design rather than custom tight fit for the RX-100 (that is my only complaint, other than that it works great).

Q: 4. what is the effective usable range of the zoom with the included port ?

A: Included port accommodates the camera's full 24-200mm zoom range underwater.

Q: 5. What is the proper size for a replacement o-ring?

A: I can confirm a JIS G120 o-ring is the correct size replacement for this housing. I purchased a bunch of these o-rings to use with this housing for a recent dive trip. The o-rings are visually identical (aside from sony's grey coloring) to the stock seal. I had 14 successful dives with no leaking or weeping. Buna-N is sufficient if you go this route, along with standard silicon o-ring lubricant.

Q: 6. Does this work with the RX100 shooting grip attached?

A: No, it will not. Any additional camera grips would have to be removed before inserting the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 VI Digital Camera inside the Ikelite Underwater Housing for Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Mark VI. There is not enough clearance to use a grip with the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 VI Digital Camera, and attempting to use one would prevent the housing from closing properly for underwater usage and may prevent the buttons on the housing from properly aligning with the buttons on the camera.

Q: 7. Best way to keep to clean the front lens?

A: This ZEISS Lens Care Kit is a great option to clean the front lens of the Ikelite Underwater Housing for Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Mark VI & Mark VII https://bit.ly/3YkX4zz

Q: 8. Will this work with an RX100 that has one of Sony's own stick-on hand-grips attached to the front?

A: You cannot put a RX100 camera with the hand grip in the Sony Underwater Housing for RX100-Series Cameras.

Q: 9. Is it works with new rx100 M7?

A: Yes.

Q: 10. Does this work with the shooting grip attached?

A: The Sony RX100 VI will not fit in the Fantasea Line FRX100 VI housing with the grip attached.

[2.8 lb / 1.3 kg] Allows access to all the important camera functions on the RX100-V. Very well designed. Works with my two TTL slave strobes but also has optic fiber adapters if needed. Perfect for macro and near subjects, wide-angle shots will require an add-on lens. Low cost but high quality. Very happy!

[2.8 lb / 1.3 kg] I used it for a week snorkeling in Hawaii. No problems. Overall good experience.
Need to set the display brightness to "Sunny day".
I used Shutter priority mode to make sure shutter speed is at least 1/250 or faster.

[3.11 lb] I bought the ikelite house obviously to take underwater shots for the beach. nothing to complain about here. Just make sure you slap in a full battery so you don't have to stop and swap it mid swim. It has a slightly positive boyency, not crazy you probably won't notice it. All the controls are accessible tho it might be hard to see the monitor under intense sunlight at the beach.

[3.11 lb] I bought to use my RX100V camera on a live aboard trip. Did around 35 dives with no complains at all. All commands and functions worked perfectly.

[3.11 lb] Have been able to dive with it yet; but I'm impressed with the quality and the fact that all functions are accessible and it looks like the flash diffuser should work well - has to be better than my Canon G10 one which left a distinct shadow (of the lens barrel) in every flash shot.

[200' / 60 m] I have had previous iterations of Sony's underwater housing for cybershot cameras such as the MPK-WEB. I find this a vast improvement. The controls are well spaced and intuitive, giving full access to all the cameras features. The additional locking mechanism on the also side ensures no chance of inadvertently opening the back door while in use. I cant wait to try it out on our next adventure!!

[2.8 lb / 1.3 kg] I have not yet used this device underwater, but it's easy to see that it's a very well engineered product. All controls are easily accessible, and the camera goes into the housing with no problem. Sony did a great job in building this unit. It's very well made and I cannot think of anything they could have done to make it better. I will use it with the RX100 M5, and this will increase it's value to me.
