Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi. Will this work with the Manfrotto 504 HD head?

A: Yes, the Manfrotto 504HD Fluid Video Head uses a 75mm half-bowl for connection so it is compatible with the Benro 75mm Hi-Hat.

Q: 2. Does it comes with the ball head?

A: As illustrated, it is just the socket, not the ball or head.

Q: 3. Can this be used on a photography tripod like the Manfrotto 190xprob and mount a fluid head? Or should I just buy a video tripod with a fluid head already included instead?

A: I purchased this riser to be used at our church. It is screwed to the balcony front rail and has a Manfrotto fluid head supporting the Panasonic video camera. It is very well made, light yet sturdy and stable for our needs. I would think this mounted to a sturdy/beefy photo tripod and a fluid head will work quite well.

Q: 4. Which one to get 75mm or 100mm hi hat? I know the difference in size and weight but which would be better for still photography? Thanx.

A: Better depends on what you are doing. Most likely the smaller 75mm will be more than adequate for still photography. 100mm is better for cameras that are larger than most any still camera being used today.

Q: 5. When mounting to a slider, how much stability is lost by raising the head and camera 6"? Am I better off just buying a flat-base head?

A: The ikan IK-RSR6 Hi-Hat Riser (6") (B&H# IKIKRSR6) simply raises the point of connection between the slider and the camera by around six inches. First, it should be said that even when not using a hi-hat, most uses of a slider will nevertheless still use a head such as a typical tripod head that is around 2.5-3" (6.35-7.6cm) tall anyway. Yes, raising the head even higher will make the slider more top heavy. However, whether or not that is a problem will depend on many factors and will well be worth it to video shooters wanting to use a half ball to be able to take the shot at a particular angle. If the load capacity of the slider can handle the extra weight then it should still be sufficiently stable, especially when used flat.

Q: 6. What's the weight capacity?

A: The manufacturer does not list a weight capacity anywhere. However, the ikan IK-RSR6 will be able to support more weight than any tripod head you fix onto the riser.

Q: 7. What are the dimensions at the widest point? 4.7"?

A: Yes, this product is widest at 4.7 inches.

Q: 8. Will this fit Manfrotto 502HD?

A: Yes it will. B&H# MAMVH502A, which is the 75mm version of the 502HD, will work very well in this 75mm Hi-Hat.

Q: 9. Hi all. I can't tell from the photos but does this come with a 3/8" stud on a platform so I can mount a ball head on it? Or will I need to buy a half ball leveling adapter to get the stud? Thank you.

A: A 3/8"-16 Low-Profile Tie-Down Adapter is defined as being included, but to properly mount any devices and achieve proper leveling, we recommend a half ball leveling adapter.

Q: 10. Is this hi-hat compatible with the Sachtler Aktiv heads w/ 75mm bowl? i.e. Aktiv8

A: Yes, The Benro 75mm Hi-Hat will work. But only with Sachtler Aktiv head models that support 75mm bowls.

[1 lb / 0.45 kg] I use this mainly for filming sports from press boxes. Because of the short spread, I'm able to get the camera out of the window so my view is unobstructed. I highly recommend the Benro Hi Hat if it's in your budget.

[8.75 x 6 x 1.2"] I'm about a few weeks in owning this, and I love it. Not one for buying brands that arnt top in my list, but benro definitely surprised me with the build quality and the ergonomics. Lots of value in this considering you'll be paying a hefty price for a good quality baby tripod/hi-hat contraption. It's sturdy and the feet have a rubber grip that makes me slap my mama. It's great for table top shooting or when you need stability on the floor.

[75 mm bowl] I've owned a Benro BV8 tripod for several years and wanted to own a pair of 75mm Baby Legs. I've used a lot of other options, Sachtler and such. And I have to say these ones are superior.

The build quality is amazing, you can get the camera so low in comparison with other baby legs. They come with different feet options for dirt and uneven surfaces as well as a small
short Tie-Down thread to hold the tripod head. Since the one on the Bv8 is super long.

The only regret I have is maybe I should've bought the 100mm version for the future if a expand to bigger Tripod Heads.
