A: This set is for the Dana Dolly and would also work with the Proaim Polaris dolly. We are not aware of a curved option.

A: This kit comes with six 39" lengths of schedule 80 aluminum pipe. That would give you 117 inches for each side of the dolly track, which is just a bit under 10 feet of length.

A: I'm afraid not. This dolly is very compact, it is not wide enough for a tripod. However it does have a 3/8 -16 threaded hole in the center for mounting flat base tripod heads, such as the Manfrotto 502HD (B&H #MAMVH502AH). If you are looking for an option that will work with a tripod you may want to look at the Glide Gear SYL-960 Floor/Track Hybrid Tripod Dolly (B&H #GLSYL960) and their Straight Track option (B&H #GLSYL101).

A: I don't think it's better than the Dana dolly, but it depends on your use. The rig wheels plate is much smaller and doesn't have the Mitchell plate groves or any way to lock the ball adapter in place. If you are just using small cameras than its not a big deal and the rig wheels dolly works great. The rig wheels dolly is great if you are planning to buy some of the other rig wheels products as well because it can be used in many ways.

[4.885 lb] I had to use a thiner pole then it's made to be used with, and it worked perfectly. I combined 2 10ft pipes from Home Depot and hung a 4x6 bounce off a 3 story drop. It was the moonlight effect I always wanted!!! 5

[4.885 lb] Great kit. Everything is well built and I wouldn't fret about putting this under decent loads. It's nice it comes with a doubler/extension. My only complaint is that it's shiny, so it might cause some unwanted reflections on set. One last caveat - a lot of rental houses only carry 1.25 pipe, so you'll definitely want to make sure you have that sourced or purchased. 5

[4.885 lb] After looking at the Kessler, Rigwheels and Dana pipe kits at B+H I thought that it was too much money to be spending on pipe. I had done some research and bought 6061 pipe from an online metal supplier and the 70ES joiner pieces from a reputable grip house. The pipe showed up and one of them had two serious gouges from a grinder that would certainly result in stitches. The joiner kits then arrived and they would not fit inside the 1.25" pipe - they were too big by about .25". While it was not the dumbest purchase I have ever made, I quickly realized that the Dana kit was the best option. The Dana Dolly pipes and connectors fit perfectly, and were very quick to put together. Close your eyes and move the Dana Dolly and you cannot tell where the connections are - and it certainly will make for buttery smooth footage. The bag makes it easy to transport and store them safely. Paired up with my Dana Dolly and Matthews slider stands, I now have a 10' dolly and rail kit that is easy to travel with, easy to set up and lets me focus on getting great footage.
