The black Yamaha DXS18XLF-D is a Dante-equipped, powered subwoofer designed for extending the low frequency of full-range speakers and is well suited for use with any of the DZR-series powered loudspeakers. The 1600W Class-D amplifier powers the 18" woofer to provide a frequency range of 30 to 150 Hz (-10 dB) with a maximum SPL of 136 dB.

The onboard D-XSUB LF 96 kHz DSP processor provides total bass management. The Normal mode is ideal for a balanced low-frequency response, while Boost mode provides a tighter and more focused bass with some extra punch. Xtended LF mode drops the low-end frequencies down even further for large bottom end. If using two or more subwoofers, the selection of Cardioid mode can effectively reduce stage volume, while increasing low-end output directed at the audience.

The rear panel offers two combo XLR-1/4" inputs with XLR thru/outputs and dedicated level controls. A USB port allows for system upgrades and preset configuration and backups. The DXS18XLF-D is equipped with an additional panel with two etherCON connectors (2-in/2-out) for interfacing with other Dante-compatible equipment such as other speakers and Yamaha's CL/QL/TF digital mixing consoles. The Yamaha DXS18XLF-D ships with a standard IEC power cord.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. With the volume set at nominal level, does the monitor pop when the power is turned on or off?

A: I have not had any hum or pop turning it on or off. I also use balanced, shielded cables when recording in the field. This monitor has worked quite well for me :)

Q: 2. Is that price for pair? Or single?

A: That price is for a single speaker.

Q: 3. Are these like a powered version of NS10m?

A: There are some similarities sonically.

Q: 4. where can I find the overload indicator?

A: There is no indicator. You should be able to hear any distortion before the systems are overloaded. =============================a href= http://static.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/115939.pdf target= _blank http://static.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/115939.pdf/a

Q: 5. does it come in singles when u purchase or I need to get two for stereo monitoring?

A: The Yamaha HS7 are sold individually.

Q: 6. where are you located?

A: B&H is located in New York City. 420 9th Avenue NY, NY 10001

Q: 7. Does this model have crossover templates for the SRM-15 V-Class or vice versa? Or does Mackie have plans for an accompanying SRM V-Class sub? Urgent answer required; I'm planning to buy V-Class 15-inchers and am trying to decide on the right sub. Don't understand why Mackie would put out the V-Class SRM line without a sub or at least specifying which sub it pairs with. Baffling.

A: We do not carry a Mackie Sub in the SRM V class line, but the DRM 18S is tunable and can be made to match the SRM models. There is no built in preset for it,

Q: 8. Is yamaha ns-sw100w subwoofer compatible with sony receiver str-dh790 receiver consideratingf impedance thrshold aspect?

A: Yes, the Yamaha NS-SW100 10" 100W Subwoofer (Black), B&H # YANSSW100BL, would be compatible with the Sony STR-DH790 7.2-Channel A/V Receiver (B&H # SOSTRDH790) as long as it is not turned up to maximum volume. This receiver has a considerably higher power output than what this subwoofer is designed to handle.

Q: 9. Will this work with the Yamaha P515? I have heard it was designed to work with that.

A: The Yamaha NS-SW100 is not made for compatibility with the Yamaha P515 piano.

Q: 10. Can you connect your iphone directly to these monitors since they are "active"? thank you

A: The Yamaha HS7 studio monitors are powered and a source can be directly conected into them. The Hosa Technology Stereo Mini (3.5mm) Male to 2 Mono 1/4" Male Insert Y-Cable - 10,' BH #HOYCSMM2PM10 would be an appropriate cable for this application.

[1x Each Side] I have three of these subwoofers now and use them as singles for small shows, pairs for bigger ones, and three across the front for the biggest shows we do. The key qualities these have got going their way is 1) relatively light (66 lbs) individually, 2) affordable, 3) good in/out options, and the biggest 4) easy setup in cardoid pattern. We run a very quiet stage, just drums and vocals, and cardoid pattern allows us to keep that stage quiet.

There are definitely more powerful subs out there but this one meets our needs. It's a Yamaha so it just works.

[1x Each Side] I ordered a full Yamaha HS8 setup and have been incredibly impressed. I have two of these HS8 monitors and 1 of the HS8S (matching subwoofers).

Together these bring insanely high-quality studio sound to my setup. The speakers fit great on the side of my desk (I have a larger 80x30 desk), and the sound quality is fantastic.

I highly recommend it!
