The black Yamaha CZR12 is a 2-way passive loudspeaker designed for main/FOH and floor monitor applications. From live bands at outdoor festivals to DJ's in clubs, the speaker is well suited for a range of live performance and installed sound environments. The CZR12 requires 800W of power to drive the 12" woofer and 2" compression driver, which combine to provide a frequency range of 43 Hz to 20 kHz (-10 dB) with a maximum SPL of 129 dB. The rotatable horn allows for vertical or horizontal mounting to further adapt the acoustic dimensions of a venue. The constant directivity (CD) horn was designed with the goal of providing smooth, level coverage across the intended coverage area, minimizing roll-off that is common in conventional horn designs.

To maximize performance, the CZR12 can be configured for bi-amplification, which allows two independent amplifier channels to power the woofer and compression driver separately. Yamaha recommends the use of a DSP speaker processor or a power amplifier with integrated DSP, such as Yamaha's PX Series amplifiers, in order to set crossovers, limiting, and equalization to ensure the best performance. The rear panel offers two Neutrik SpeakON NL4MP connectors, which are configured in parallel and allow for additional speakers to be daisy-chained. There are twelve M10 rigging points for permanent installations as well as two pole cups (0 & -7°) for deploying in a mobile setting.

[Plywood] I read the specs from Mackie so I figured that these speakers would work for what I tend to do sound reinforcement for. �The handle placement is ideal, especially when placing them on speaker stands and the sound coming out them filled a 75 by 100 ft meeting room nicely with very clean audio. �Yes I would recommend this product to a friend 5

[51.1 lb] At home stereo set up, wanted to try new tech, noticed local rental joints are exclusively QSC (no passive speakers though). Ordered smallest QSC speakers - I liked their look for home and their 85 degree pattern; with the idea to return them if I don't like the sound . I employ them with a 200W Mackie amp and SVS-SB3000 sub, through a DDRC-24 Dirac Live room corrector. The result is very pleasing, and the Tannoys are now retired. There is more clarity in the sound and I can push more (a lot of) power into the system with the clarity still remaining there. I don't have to sit on the sofa to enjoy the sound, so 85 degree pattern is working well. Note they are not flat, they require EQ/DSP corrector. 5

[Passive 2-Way] Finally got to use these at a gig just this weekend after purchasing them last summer. I've used them a bit before but really never have had a chance to really air them out and see what they can do. Wow. I had these outside up against a wall on a patio outdoors and had to provide audio for a wedding, both the ceremony and the reception. The ceremony itself was about 100 yards from the speakers. No problems at all, these handled that job with ease. I haven't invested in a subwoofer yet, and with all honesty I wouldn't get the Yamaha subs to go with this when I do (JTR Captivator 218PRO is 3dB down at 27hz for anyone reading this) but it really didn't matter at all. Once it was time to get down and boogie, these speakers brought it with crystal clarity. I still had a ways to go before distortion and we were just rocking the whole mountain valley in Lincoln, MT. Truly awesome speakers. No distortion at all at insane volume levels with some heavy dance music. Great bass and the mids/highs are crisp and clear. I can't recommend these enough nor the service I received here at BHPhoto. Top quality company and products! 5

[Passive 2-Way] I purchased these speakers to replace the 12 inch woofers that were in two PA 121 cabinets originally sold by Mackie Industrial. These were manufactured by RCF in Italy and rebranded as Mackie. The original 12s had basically rotted away and were unusable. I emailed Eminence and they confirmed that this would be a good replacement choice. The build quality of these Eminence speakers is very impressive and professional. When it came to testing, I was very pleasantly surprised! Punchy lows, very clean mids. In my system I have the cabinets set up for bi-amping. The crossover point is set at 3000 HZ. I would describe the sound as very musical and accurate. I also own a pair of QSC K 10s. I did an A-B comparison and found that the Mackie speakers with the eminence 12s sounded very similar to the K 10s but a little cleaner and much, much louder. The efficiency and output level is almost unbelievable at this price point. (about 300w available to each 12 inch and about 50w to each horn) The first time I had an opportunity to use these speakers was at an outdoor 5K race as an announce system at the finish line. We were covering an area about the size of two football fields with several thousand people. The sound was great and the customer was very happy. It sounded like a much larger system. One additional benefit, the cabinets are now noticeably lighter than they were before. That's always a plus! I highly recommend the speaker; you will not be disappointed. 5

[51.1 lb] Really natural sounding speaker in a tough but lightweight cabinet. Versatli can be a floor wedge, stuck on a stick or flown with the optional eyebolts or mounting bracket. 5
